After crushing last Saturday's Bersih 2.0 rally with tear gas, water cannons and massive arrests, police continued to hunt down its supporters today.

Sabah PAS Youth chief Lahirul Latigu was arrested at 5pm yesterday, at a restaurant in a suburb of Kota Kinabalu, for wearing a Bersih 2.0 T-shirt and distributing some 20 such T-shirts to his friends.

NONE According to Lahirul ( left ), he was being investigated under Section 47 of the Societies Act 1996, which carries a penalty of up to two years in jail or a fine of RM5,000 or both if found guilty.

He was taken to the Karamunsing police station near Kota Kinabalu for his statement to be recorded and remanded overnight. He was released on police bail this afternoon.

At 8.30pm last night, the police took him, in handcuffs, to search his house in Sepanggar, some 15km from Kota Kinabalu.

Lahirul said it saddened him that his wife and children saw him in handcuffs.

"The police found a box used to store Bersih T-shirts (in his car), with my friend's address on it. Without any warrant, they went to search his house as well."

His car is still under police custody, he added.

Lahirul was the first to be arrested in Sabah after the Bersih 2.0 rally , which saw 1,697 people arrested.

Earlier today, Home Minister Hishammuddim Hussein said the police would continue to investigate all cases related to the Bersih rally, and that this would be followed with prosecution.

Hishammuddin said police would also investigate inaccurate media reports and baseless allegations hurled at the authorities, based on video footages police recorded during the rally.
