Hundreds of eyewitnesses can't be wrong

Bar Council: Tung Shin Hospital was hit

Joker: Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, you warn that action will be taken against those whose reports on police brutality and misconduct are found to be untrue. What if they are true? Will the police be punished? Will the IGP Ismail Omar and yourself step down?

Or will just parrot the oft-abused line, "We will investigate and appropriate actions will be taken, if necessary"?

Anak Malaysia: If the PM Najib Razak, Hishammuddin and Health Minister Dr Liow Tiong Lai have dignity, they all should resign immediately for lying and misleading the rakyat. Hundreds of eyewitnesses can't be wrong. The police did fire it into the hospital compound.

Scheiss: Well done, Bar Council. Two members of your team at the rally gave me a lot of encouragement - one of them telling me to walk bravely past the helmeted baton-wielding police with trucks of chemical-laced water cannons and other gear, hungrily waiting for one false move from anyone of us.

Black Mamba: As like most neutral apolitical citizen who has been observing the run-up to Bersih movement that climax into last Saturday demonstration, I can finally conclude that it was Najib's administration mismanagement of the whole negotiations with the NGOs that lead to many disgruntled peaceful Malaysians taking to the streets to voice their displeasure to the government's high handedness of the whole affair.

The way Najib and Hishammuddin twisted and backtracked on their public statements has lead to the fallout. The persistent denial of a city venue, police permit and intimidation culminated in the snowballing of anti-government protesters.

I hope this will be a lesson learned by the BN-managed government that dissenting views make up a democracy, otherwise it spells the death of its rule after the next GE.

TehTarik: The credibility of the government is at rock bottom. When truth is constantly interspersed with half truths and lies, people lose confidence in their leaders.

It was easier to disseminate half truths to people before the advent of Internet and YouTube. Our leadership is rapidly degenerating into a sham government if it continues to treat its citizens like fools.

Malaysians Are Not Stupid: When the IGP and the health minister show no shame in lying to the public despite mounting evidences showing that the police did indeed fire tear gas and water canon into Tung Shin Hospital's compound, I think this country's leadership and government have lost its moral authority.

Bersih calls for 'Yellow Saturdays'

Fellow Malaysian: I think the effects of post-Bersih 2.0 (is it too soon to use this term?) is like a shot in the arm in instilling awareness and waking to a new dawn of realisation among concerned rakyat.

Bersih leader S Ambiga, together with her fellow NGO leaders such as Maria Chin Abdullah, have done absolutely well. I salute them and my wishes is for them to continue with their sacrifices and hard work.

The day will come soon when we will be rewarded with a corrupt-free government and one that recognises human potentials instead of one which dwell on archaic laws to protect them and preserve their power.

Josephine: Ambiga, I will wear yellow every Saturday until the electoral reform is implemented. Last Saturday, I borrowed a top from my son and my daughter to wear for Saturday and Sunday. It looks like I will have to go shop for something today.

MatrixLYN: I can see yellow shirts and clothing selling like hot cakes now. Going to buy a few later today.

Ng Lee Hua: There will be five from my family wearing yellow. Mum and dad went for the rally last Saturday, and we kids wore yellow in support. So, come on everybody, whether you're going for tuition, shopping or just lazing around on Saturdays, wear yellow!

Meluat: Great idea, Ambiga. I have been incorporating yellow in my assemble since the ban was imposed. Wear yellow, people, or something with yellow everyday, be it a handbag, a hairclip, a selendang (scarf), anything.

Keep the momentum going until the next general election. Show BN that the Bersih spirit cannot be crushed.

Clearwater: If I had a yellow Ferrari, I would drive it around the KLCC-Bukit Bintang area every Saturday afternoon. If I had a yellow submarine, I would invite PM Najib to have afternoon tea on board.

Alas, I have neither, but I do have a yellow T-shirt which I can wear every Saturday.

Kelvinc: Just as I had hoped, Bersih has indeed called for this. Now the real silent majority can voice their support and show them how many of us are no longer willing to suffer a bad government.

I am going now to buy my yellow long-sleeved shirt for my Saturday workday and I will only wear this colour on Saturdays.

Mirror thyself: One could also place a yellow decorative item in your rear view mirror of your car or hang yellow from the window of your house to signify support. Remember those people who are still in detention and the late Baharuddin Ahmad who died in the cause of justice for Malaysian rakyat.

Dr Zafar Shah: We Burmese are proud that Malaysians are copying the Burmese struggle, but we hope Malaysia does not copy the history of Burma. We had 'The White Shirt' campaign. Malaysia now has yellow.

Police bar 10 reps from visiting Jeyakumar at IJN

Kangaroo: When the government doesn't have the evidence, they hold you under draconian laws like Emergency Ordinance or Internal Security Act. If they have evidence, they charge them under section 122 of the Penal Code.

Did they find the weapons of war with the PSM 6? No. So either way, their arrests are illegal.

Toffeesturn.blogspot.com: This is outright brutal - why can't a sick man be visited by his friends and associates? This is the way this police force act. It lacks any sense of respecting human dignity.

How can they possibly police a nation, one wonders. Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, is this a reflection of your upbringing? Or are you going to deny it ever happened again?
