Enough of LIES, free PSM 6 now
'The police have made a mistake by detaining the six. Now they are looking for excuses to justify their action.'
Cops: PSM6 detained due to 'key role' in Bersih
Gerard Samuel Vijayan: Why then is the Emergency Ordinance (Public Order and Prevention of Crime) 1969 being misused by the BN government? They could be charged under the Penal Code or the Police Act 1967 or the Societies Act 1966. Why detain them under the EO, which is akin to the ISA?
The EO ought to be repealed because it clearly overlaps with the Penal Code, the Public Order (Preservation) Act 1958 and the Prevention of Crime Act 1959. The only distinction being that the former allows detention without trial.
The alleged ‘communist' link is as unbelievable as Chin Peng wanting to become the next PM. If communism is still a threat despite the ending of the Communist Party of Malaya's armed struggle, then we should sever all links with China, Vietnam, Laos, Cuba and North Korea since they are still communist and pose a threat to international peace and security.
And yet, the BN government entertains leaders from these countries and maintains diplomatic, economic, trade and educational ties with these terrible regimes.
Joker: Only in crackpot despotic countries can one be detained without proof. The affidavit filed by police did not provide any proof but merely what the police ‘believed'.
The minimum standard of conviction of a crime under the criminal code is for the prosecution to proof guilt 'beyond reasonable doubt'. The police, who are ‘Raja in Malaysia', merely have to state they 'believe' there is guilt and one can then be detained indefinitely.
Multi Racial: How low our police can go? How can these six be charged for their ‘key role' in Bersih 2.0? Isn't there were 62 NGOs involved. Why the police dare not charge more?
They made a mistake by detaining the six. Now they are looking for excuses to justify their action. I think the IGP should resign for this mistake.
DontPlayGod: Not only the PDRM, but the judiciary too are in cahoots with the Umno government to bully and put fear in activists, especially those in the opposition.
Under what crimes are these six charged with? At first, it was communism, now the police say it is for being the main movers of Bersih. How idiotic can the PDRM get? Everyone knows that Bersih is the brainchild of 62 NGOs, and organised completely by these NGOs.
Where does PSM come in? It think all these is because the government wants to instil fear in the opposition politicians and NGOs, to prevent these people from going ahead with Bersih 2.0.
And PSM is the scapegoat - it is easier for Umno and the PDRM to bully a relatively new and small party like PSM, than say PKR, DAP, or PAS.
Swipenter: We all know the PSM 6 are no threat to national security. The home minister and IGP should resign for this scandal and for their conspiracy involving the arrest of these six loyal and patriotic Malaysians.
Black Mamba: The de facto law minister lied, the health minister lied, the defence minister lied, the PM lied, the home minister lied.
Previously we had a sleeping cabinet that got PKFZ approved for an exorbitant amount of rakyat money. Now we have a lying cabinet that made the rakyat pay for the Scorpene submarine commission of half a billion ringgit.
Can we next have a ramrod straight cabinet that stands up for truth for once?
Ipoh2: Enough of lies. The Malaysian people want them released. The longer you take to release the six, the more brickbats you will receive.
AnakBangsaMalaysia: It is a fact that Sungai Siput MP Dr Jeyakumar and the PSM members are being detained for no other reason than the sheer vindictiveness of the police, Home Ministry and PM Najib Razak.
Bersih 2.0 proved that the rakyat could no longer be intimidated by threats of violence from the Umno-BN regime and its uniformed thugs, so these thugs are instead taking out their frustrations on the PSM 6 instead.
There is absolutely no legal basis for their arrest and continued detention, and in fact the police, Home Ministry and Najib have committed a grave crime against Jeyakumar and the other detainees.
Docs: If the PSM 6 was arrested by PDRM for their ‘key role' in Bersih under the Emergency Ordinance (which to me is another name for ISA), the how come S Ambiga, who spearheaded and was the leader behind Bersih, was not arrested under EO prior to July 9?
Why was Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang, Mat Sabu and the other opposition politicians who also played a key role before and during Bersih the march were not arrested under EO?
What about the 50,000 protestors (or the less then 10,000 as claimed by Umno) who most definitely played a key role by coming out to protest on the streets of KL were not arrested under EO?
And the 1,600 protesters that were detained on July 9 for taking taking part in the illegal Bersih protest, why were they not arrested under EO?
Ruben: Excuse me, PDRM, the main movers are the Bersih committee members, who are led by Ambiga. She and the other members were the key people in wanting to hold the rally, who met the Agong and the IGP. Can't you remember?
You just twist and distort facts, and meanwhile six people are being detained with no clear evidence of committing treason or sedition. They are socialists and not communists. Communism in its true sense has all but disappeared in this world.
Dood: So what was all the ‘communism' hoo-ha? These clowns can't even keep their story straight. It's like they're using a dartboard to choose what charge to come up with.
Artchan: First they were communist, now they are Bersih, and if the charge don't hold, we can call them Tamil Tigers... never mind, we will find ways to link them to terror. The Malaysia police is a bloody joke. Yes, before I forget, Hindraf was also a terror organisation.
Lexicon: Umno are scrabbling around, trying to find some excuse to keep these selfless PSM people imprisoned. Umno has humiliated itself in the eyes of the world and Malaysians. The longer they keep the PSM 6 in jail, the lower their percentage of the votes in GE13.
As RPK (Raja Petra Kamarudin) has said, if 60 percent vote for Pakatan, and Umno will be in opposition. And if Umno doesn't release the PSM6 soon, this will become even more likely.
One Brain Cell: The low calibre of police officers in PDRM disqualifies them from wielding such wide-ranging powers. It's like putting a machine gun in the hands of a retard. Lots of innocent bystanders will end up bullet-ridden.
