Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein today clarified that the police investigation on the July 9 illegal rally was not yet complete.

"The probe is ongoing and the complainants who falsely alleged police brutality during the illegal rally will be investigated and charged accordingly.

"The video is proof that there was no violence committed by police when dispersing the rally as claimed by certain quarters."

Hishammuddin told this to Bernama through SMS when asked if police had completed their investigation on the rally after the video evidence was screened recently to members of the public and media representatives.

He said the video screening was only part of the investigation conducted by six special committees following claims that PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu was hit by a police Pajero four-wheel-drive vehicle, among others.

He added that the charges would depend on the Attorney-General after going through the evidence and findings of the police investigation.
