Ku Li - what future for a man from the past?
'I don't know why Malaysians can't try being optimistic and look to the future by relying on someone with a bit of youth and imagination.'
Replacing Anwar with Ku Li not impossible, says Harun
Dood : Please lah ... Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah is loyal to Umno to a fault, despite himself being a principled man. There's no way he would abandon Umno because he still (naively) thinks that he can save the party.
Asking him to quit Umno is like asking a parent to abandon his child. It's unfortunate, but some people just don't want to wake up and face reality.
Ferdtan: We would have thought that Harun Taib, the chief of PAS ulama council, should have championed his own PAS leader, president Abdul Hadi Awang, to be the next opposition leader if Anwar is indisposed to hold the position due to the outcome of his sodomy trial.
Instead he finds Ku Li, still a member of Umno, more acceptable than his own leaders. If it is true what had been reported by Utusan , then Harun should be ashamed of himself as it shows that he has no confidence in his own party leader.
If we, the Chinese, have come to accept PAS, including Hadi Awang as the logical alternative leader to Anwar, why is it that the chief of ulama has doubts? Harun has to come out to clarify in the truth of the reporting, or is he still sore with the losses of his grouping in the last party polls?
Pants on Fire: This is another one of Umno's tricks using Utusan Malaysia to spread discord among Pakatan parties.
L Joy: It doesn't take a lot of money from Umno for some PAS leader who has one leg in PAS and another in a unity proposal with Umno to say what this leader did say.
Harun Taib only gives the impression and ammunition for Umno to attack Pakatan to show them in disunity. When will these type of PAS leaders ever learn when to open their stupid mouth?
Mamak Bendahara: It's not true that Anwar has a lot of "moral issues" that has become a liability for Pakatan. These are all part of the BN conspiracies to put him behind the bars.
Ku Li, with all due respect, is a nice man, but his credibility is questionable based on his past records. Remember he had formed Semangat 46 but he did not have the moral fibre to fight on.
Malayamuda : Please, not another frog from Umno - remember what happened with Zaid Ibrahim?
MatrixLYN: Ku Li still dreaming... he already had his time - if he had stood up when it mattered, he would have gained a lot of respect. Now, after Anwar, PKR, DAP and PAS has fought tooth and nail for so long, Ki Li thinks he can just walk in and be the next PM?
Balik lah , we don't need another leader with a chicken heart.
Blind Freddo: Recycling another 'has been' who 'never was'. I don't know why Malaysians can't try being optimistic and look to the future by relying on someone with a bit of youth and imagination.
At the moment, the nation is dominated by old men, devoid of ideas and with no outlook for the future.
Mohd : A word to all those people who still read or believe even an ounce of what Utusan wrote about anything (except for the nombor ekor ) - get a life!
Nik Aziz laughs off Anwar 'replacement' claim
Tkc: If the rumour was designed to smear Razaleigh's name due to the formation of Angkatan Amanah Merdeka, it may have backfired because it is really a good idea to have Ku Li as the opposition leader.
It will neutralise the political sentiments of the rural Malay voters and at the same time energise the fence sitters in the next GE.
Larry007: I totally agreed with Karpal Singh that without Anwar we will not experience the political tsunami of 2008. Therefore we must be focus to support Anwar all the way until the Pakatan reached Putrajaya. There is no two ways about it.
Ir Dr Mamad: How can Ku Li replace Anwar? He himself started Semangat 46, and allowed it to crash against the rocks. Would he do the same to the Pakatan coalition, now that he wants to lead the coalition?
Ambassador's wife accused of insulting Jose Rizal
Gerard Samuel Vijayan: These are the types of Wisma Putra wives that we have abroad. No brains but only want to have a good time at the expense of the taxpayers - shopping, parties, fun and games.
What has Malaysia got to show - do we have any nationalist leader like Jose Rizal? No. Only a bunch of Umno leaders and Malay rulers who were more than happy to work with the colonial power until 1946. In fact, they were all accomplices to British rule.
Whether Rizal was a Malay Christian or not is not important. What is important is his legacy.
Retnam: This is what will happen if you make village idiots as ambassadors.
