Nazri: I don't know who is Bersih...

Chew Swee Yoke: The daily exposures of irregularities in the electoral roll is shocking. These exposures have confirmed my greatest nightmare about the way elections are run in Malaysia.

It reminds me of the last election that the infamous Marcos regime ran in the Philippines. When the votes were being counted, the workers in the counting centres realised that those who were to key the votes into the computer system were being asked to reverse all votes in favour of the opposition so that they were counted as votes for the ruling party's candidates.

A few hundred of the workers then decided to expose the fraud and held a press conference where hundreds of international reporters were present. That was the end of the Marcos regime.

If the current irregularities in our electoral roll are not satisfactorily resolved, the results of GE13 will not be recognised as legitimate and all citizens of this country will definitely have to take some action. And this time, the ensuing protests will far outnumber the Bersih 2.0 rally.

Cala: Minister in the PM's Department Nazri Abdul Aziz is a joker alright. He is not being rational when he implied that Bersih 2.0 is small fry, a non-entity, and therefore merits no special treatment in a public hearing.

First, he is not being rational to ignore a body which stand for righteousness, fair play and equitable outcomes in clean elections.

Second, he is not being logical to argue that Bersih 2.0 can be ignored. Look at the way the regime sealed off Kuala Lumpur on July 9 and the mass deployment of the police against peaceful protestors.

To now claim Bersih 2.0 is close to a non-entity is ludicrous, laughable and mind-boggling.

Pants On Fire: Bersih is the reason you are talking to the press on this, Nazri. Don't act dumb, please.

2nd Class Citizen: Our former premier Pak Lah was arrogant like Nazri when he said he didn't know who Anwar was before the 12th GE. He was booted out. You are next, Nazri.

Azizi Khan: Nazri, you don't know who Bersih is? They represent the citizens of Malaysia - those people who pay your salary. Remember them?

1M: This is pure arrogance of the people in power. No wonder, thousands took to the streets - that was the only way to get their views heard.

Muak: If the people cannot tell the people they voted into public office what to do, something is seriously wrong with our democratic system.

And for a minister to say "it is not for them to tell us what to do", is uncouth and downright vulgar. Malaysians have to really teach their so-called leaders how to behave.

And now - voters with non-existent MyKad code

Ferdtan: We have our very own 'David Copperfield' in Malaysia - our EC chairperson, Abdul Aziz Yusuf. He does better magic than the famous magician.

He can make voters disappear as well as making them appearing twice, and put the real Copperfield to shame by making instant voters out of fresh-from-the-oven foreign-born Malaysians.

He can add to his electoral roll non-existing Malaysians by adding double zeroes to their identity cards in the twinkling of an eye. He can transfer the voters out of their usual place to another area without actually doing constituency delineation.

Best of all, he feigns that he has no power to make any amendment to the electoral roll, but when caught with his pants down, he can with impunity, make some dubious names disappear.

Abdul Aziz, together with his irresponsible deputy chairman, Wan Ahmad Wan Omar, must resign as we, the rakyat, have no confidence in them.

Mamakputra's Stooge: So when does EC intend to do these ‘checks' instead of leaving it to the opposition parties? Why isn't BN finding any irregularities in this fiasco? Isn't it strange?

Kosongcafe: Now you see it, now you don't. It looks like any discrepancy found by the opposition, EC will delete to avoid leaving evidence of errors or deliberate manipulation.

In a way, it is good that we have hardworking chaps checking on EC but it seems like they are doing the work for them. The system should have built-in checks to prevent such voters with non-existent code. That they exist show the system's weakness.

There were earlier reports about thousands of centenarians which raised suspicions. Besides checking to confirm whether they are still alive, EC should check on whether such 'persons' had voted before.

Tuah PJ: Just throw out the current electoral list and start registering again. This time, check all birth certificates.
