Former PKR central committee member Badrul Hisham Shaharin is standing by his allegation that a RM24.4 million diamond ring was brought into the country recently for Rosmah Mansor, the prime minister's wife.

badrul hisham shaharin altantuya police questioning 290509 03 He said Rosmah had reportedly inspected the arrival of a "natural fancy blue cushion cut diamond ring" at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport cargo section on April 16.

Badrul ( left ), better know as Chegubard, has advised Rosmah's "sycophants" who have been accusing him of slander to stay mum on the matter.

He added that Rosmah's ardent supporters, in speaking out, have made her "look bad" as they had issued several contradictory statements about the ring, which was allegedly flown in from New York.

He called on the ‘first lady' to explain her involvement in the purchase of the ring from top jeweller Jacob & Co as her name was allegedly stated in the receiver's column on a Customs document.

MACC report lodged last month

samm police report on rosmah diamond ring 130711 group Chegubard had revealed the ‘evidence' in Penang before lodging a report at the state branch of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) last month.

"She is neither a Customs officer nor is she a jewellery expert. Why is her name on the receiver's column of the Customs form?" he queried.

"Rosmah should be the one to come forward and explain this," added the leader of youth group Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia.

"I suggest that Rosmah's supporters, who include Umno members and bloggers, to remain quiet or else they would make the situation more difficult for her," he stressed.

anuar shaari permatang pauh leave pkr 270307 attentive Chegubard was responding to a statement issued by Anwar Ibrahim's former personal secretary Anuar Shaari who accused the opposition leader of making false allegations about the ring.

Anuar ( left ), who made statement in Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia yesterday, challenged Badrul to lodge a police report against Rosmah, who has denied allegations that the ring was purchased by her.

When asked, she refused to entertain the issue, describing it as "another slander", saying as the PM's wife it was better for her to focus on people's issues because they are more important.

' Maira ordered the ring'

Anuar added that Chegubard would not dare take up his challenge as the latter was aware that the ring had nothing to do with Rosmah, but was instead ordered from New York by Maira Nazarbayev.

maira nazarbayev Maria ( right ), is the future mother-in-law of Rosmah and Najib Razak's daughter Najwa Nooryana, who was recently engaged to Daniyar Nazarbayev, a Kazakhstan government dignitary.

On Sunday, prominent Indonesian daily Kompas has apologised to Najib and his family over an Aug 4 report alleging, among others, that Rosmah had purchased the diamond ring.

The apology also referred to claims that Maira, who has a notorious reputation in Kazakhstan, was linked to the Russian mafia.

Chegubard said Anuar was merely trying to score brownie points with Rosmah by defending her over the multi-million dollar ring controversy.

"Anuar knows the actual situation in Umno - that all decisions indirectly come from Rosmah. He is trying to show his support to attract Rosmah's attention," he said.

NONE "He is hoping that he can have a chance to contest a seat in the coming general election," he added.

According to Chegubard, the "contradictory statements" included revelations by a pro-Umno blogger who revealed new Customs documents claiming that the ring was brought in for a private exhibition.

There were also claims that the ring had left Malaysia and entered Singapore, he alleged, saying he obtained the information from his undisclosed sources.

"But now, Anuar is saying that the ring belongs to Maria... so which version is correct?" he queried.

Customs document 'credible'

Chegubard said the purpose of lodging the report at the MACC was to prove that the Customs document was "credible".

NONE Following his report, several pro-Umno bloggers had accused him of "photoshopping" images of the ring and "falsifying" details in the Customs forms.

"But I got to know from my sources that following my report, MACC officers went to KLIA to probe the matter.

"They had detained one A Krishnan for hours over the matter before releasing him at 3am," he claimed, citing reliable sources.

"My report must be accurate or else why would MACC officers want to probe the matter at KLIA and bring in the officer for questioning?" he asked.

As for initiating legal action against him, Chegubard said it would give him the opportunity to reveal more of Rosmah's "high priced" jewelleries.

"I am not so arrogant as to say ‘go ahead and sue me' but if it happens, I will take it as chance to provide more exposes on Rosmah's costly jewelleries," he said.
