Expelled central secretary of Parti Kesejahteraan Insan Tanah Air (Kita) Abd Latif A Tambi today lambasted the party leadership, saying that the party was no longer transparent and had deviated from its very basic objectives.

He said that he was not given a chance to defend himself and the principle to hear and be heard was absent in a party that advocated moderation, democracy and liberalism.

In his open letter to party president Zaid Ibrahim, Abd Latif said his termination was undeserved, saying that during his period of holding office there was no action of gross misconduct on his part that was detrimental to the well-being of the party.

“I also wish to put right the record leading to my termination. I had never erred in any of my undertakings especially in executing your (Zaid) instructions duly since my appointment as the central secretary and chief administrator of the party throughout the period of nine months till the day I was expelled,” he said.

Yesterday, the party took disciplinary action on two of its officers whereby Abd Latif was expelled while executive committee member Muhammad Firdaus Christopher was suspended.  

Kita was launched last January after Zaid quit Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) last year. It was previously known as Angkatan Keadilan Insan Malaysia.
