The police today dismissed an allegation by a son of PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu that the police had masterminded the arson attempt on their house in Kuala Lumpur.  

Inspector-general of police Ismail Omar said there was no truth to the allegation by Ahmad Saiful Islam, 23.  

The police had been on the receiving end of all kinds of allegations, he told reporters after launching the ‘Triage’ facility at the Travers police station.

NONE The facility is a special room where complainants can lodge reports on sensitive cases, away from what some may consider as an inconducive environment at the counter.

Ismail also said that the police force was a professional agency which was open and fair to all.

It was reported today that an arson attempt was made on the house of Mohamad, better known as Mat Sabu, when a molotov cocktail was thrown at it at 12.40am yesterday.

Mat Sabu’s daughter, Nurul Huda Mohamad, 28, said her parents were not at home then.

She said her father was away in Penang while her mother, Normah Alwi, 57, was in Perlis caring for her ailing grandparents.
