'Tee Keat, your attempt to make the party positive the last time for the good of the party ended up with you being kicked out.'
Tee Keat: Go ahead, remove my portrait
Cala: I like the third last paragraph of the Malaysiakini report that says Ong Tee Keat expects Chua Soi Lek to conduct himself decently if he still has "an iota of respect for democracy".
Well, how do you judge whether a person is subscribing to democracy? What established measures are you adopting? Could your own conduct while helming MCA be termed democratic?
The simple truth, to me, is that Chua is many times more democratic than you.
How do you explain to MCA members that Chua was sidelined despite being elected deputy president? He had no post in the Johor liaison committee, no post in the party disciplinary committee, and of course no post in the cabinet.
As a politician, you have established the worst form of example for openly defying party members. You ran the party as if it was your private property (remember, Chua was elected by the general delegates).
Because of your past conduct for not respecting equity, for you to preach democracy is ludicrous and absurd.
Wfworker: Ong isn't a saint, but as a politician, I believe, he holds on to certain moral beliefs which are beneficial to the Malaysian society. The nation has lost whatever fabric of social morality expected of a modern society.
Without any change, we are certainly on the path of no return.
Anonymous: Ong, you are a sore loser indeed. When you were elected president, you did not close ranks as promised. Why should I trust you now? You failed to make MCA a better party and your leadership qualities were not up to par. You are more rhetoric than substance.
Chua made mistakes, asked for forgiveness for his shortcomings, and got it. You don't even realise your own mistakes, much less seek forgiveness. I would rather forgive and start afresh.
Jimmy Ng: Wise words indeed from Ong Tee Keat, a true statesman, not like Chua Soi Lek, who reflects poorly on all MCA members who still support him.
Regardless of all the justifications they have made, it doesn't wash away the fact that in supporting such a leader, they are directly telling the whole world that they endorse and condone his adulterous behaviour, thus sending a terrible message to the younger generations that it is okay.
Rubystar_4037: Chua Soi Lek does not have the moral fibre to be the president of MCA. Ong Tee Keat, stay on as you are not obligated to the president, but to the party.
Anyway, MCA is going to lose badly in the coming election, so if your game plan is to remain with MCA, then you will be a loser too.
Fencesitter: Chua, you are a smart man. Why do you need to remove Ong's portrait? You cannot change history, no matter how much you dislike him.
Chinese support for MCA stands at 18 percent, as indicated by the Tenang by-election. Should MCA leaders behave like children, you are going to lose more support.
At the end of the day, if it's less than 10 percent, your ‘big brother' will politely request - or if necessary, order - that you to get lost.
Clever voter: It is trivial to talk about whose picture is to be removed. We need propositions and not personal actions to change this declining state of things.
Freemsia: Ong, do you think that removing Chua from MCA is going make a difference?
Your attempt to make the party positive the last time for the good of the party ended up with you being kicked out.
If you were to become influential in MCA again, there is still no way you will keep your seat long anyway before Umno and MCA attempt to get rid of you all over again.
Alan Goh: Since the MCA president claims to be a winnable candidate, Chinese voters dare Chua Soi Lek to stand in Wilayah Persekutuan, the Klang Valley, Penang or Perak where there are Chinese-majority voters.
It will also show PM Najib Razak how much confidence he has in this winnable MCA president.
StevenForMalaysia: OTK (Ong Tee Keat), I'm a Pakatan Rakyat supporter (not member) looking forward to seizing power from BN in the next GE.
You are a man of principle who always offends the 'snakes' in MCA who do not feel ashamed of letting down the Chinese Malaysians (whom they claimed are representing) so long as they could please their Umno bosses to get some personal benefits in return.
Quit MCA which is already of no relevance in Malaysian politics. Join PKR or DAP to pursue your Malaysian vision.
No coalition or single party is perfect, but BN has proven rotten in the past 54 years.
Puchong Mali: Come to think of it, I prefer the current leadership of MCA than that of OTK's. This way the MCA will go down the path of total irrelevance sooner. Perhaps this might actually help accelerate the collapse of BN's race-based politics in Malaysia.
Moon: Ong and Chua are the same. They are just talkers, like people at the coffee shop drinking teh tarik . All talk, no action. One is a ‘porn star' talking, and another a rejected politician talking.
Chua, you are already irrelevant. Further talk will make you even more irrelevant.
Ong, the fact that you are not leaving MCA means that you are still ‘kowtowing' to BN policies. Have the guts to leave the party if you sincerely think it's irrelevant.
