Umno's best hope turns out to be a dud

YOURSAY 'You mean they just plucked a photo of an innocent girl and claimed her to be a victim of molest? I wonder if she's aware of her new-found fame.'

DAP: Blogs used fake photo to tarnish Guan Eng's son

your say Disbeliever: Umno and pro-Umno bloggers would resort to anything to achieve their aims. Even their Oxford graduate had stooped to the lowest ebb in the defence of the party - a shame to his alumni.

Nobody in his or her right frame of mind should drag an innocent teenager into their gutter politics. This is the worst political smearing in the last 50 years which only shows BN-Umno's desperation in wanting to cling on to power.

To add salt to injury, the PM's silence in this matter and other important matters only shows that he is a cowardly PM who dare not take action to silent his 'sidekicks'.

Mohd Yusof: KJ (Khairy Jamaluddin), your attempt in gaining some desperate brownie points from PM Najib Razak (or DPM Muyihiddin Yassin?) has backfired.

Let me give you some free pointers (yes, free, no commissions) in denying what you tweeted :

1. I lost my handphone - someone else did it.

2. Someone hacked my Twitter account.

3. My children was playing with my phone and accidently pressed the keys that incredibly formed the tweet.

I think the third one will gain sympathy from your supporters.

Gandhi: I'm sure KJ's wife and his female family members are severely embarrassed by his uncouth self. This guy is causing shame to the oldest university in the UK.

He has actually dug himself a pit - Mukhriz Mahathir and gang are going to use this to nail him once and for all so that he loses his Umno Youth chief post.

I am sorry to see KJ fading fast into oblivion. What a pity for a promising guy. Senator Ezam Mohd Nor and Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali are losers and their future is already doomed. Alas, KJ has brought this calamity himself.

Solaris: If Information Minister Rais Yatim can sue a blogger for allegations of rape and win, why doesn't LGE (Lim Guan Eng) (with his propensity for lawsuits, for example Utusan Malaysia ) sue the pants off these "unprincipled people, lowest scum, desperados and cowards," especially when ordinary law of libel applies?

As it is, according to LGE, his son has been traumatised. Common sense would tell us that it's be better to nip this in the bud before it goes to the papers, causing further damage to his son's (and his) reputation. Why then, is he still keeping mum?

Gerard Samuel Vijayan: Why should LGE make a police report when we all know that the police is on Umno's payroll?

Not only will they help ‘create' evidence to substantiate Umno's allegations but they will also get some unfortunate girl who resembles the girl in the picture to make a false accusation against LGE's son.

Don't worry, this girl will be paid to make the allegation. That is the usual Umno modus operandi.

As for suing for defamation, that is an option, but the point here is why isn't the MCMC (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission) taking action against these bloggers for publishing and circulating false news, especially against a minor who is protected under the Child Act 2000?

Abasir: So far, I've not read of Umno goons urging their leader ‘to sue the pants off' all those who have openly or indirectly accused Najib of being complicit in murder, who rather swear in a mosque.

And given the presence of promotable plagiarists and the outsourcing of court judgment writing noted in our 'judicial' circles, ‘suing the pants off' is not really an option for LGE.

Onyourtoes: Now maybe we can sue these ‘mat rempit' bloggers and KJ and let them run to their daddy for money and protection. Ask this girl to join in too since her name and photo were used without her permission (I assume this must be the case).

Hey, sue them for money, not just asking them for apology. You must understand, ‘tuan' does not need to apologise. They can sink to the bottomless pit, and yet they will never feel remorseful.

This is ‘ketuanan' mentality, inculcated and nurtured from young by BTN (Biro Tatanegara) and other state apparatuses. Yes KJ, we are hypocrites as you labelled us, but please pay up.

Dood: Despite being exposed as fakes, these Umno/BN cybertrooper won't be investigated by the police or the MCMC.

Instead, only people like Universiti Islam Antarabangsa (UIA) professor Abdul Aziz Bari and Malaysiakini will get investigated. And they say there's no political interference in government agencies.

Mob1900: Papagomo is protected and untouchable - ask the IGP (inspector-general of police) and MCMC.

NuckinFuts: My advice to LGE's son: Just ignore these cyber-bullies. They have zero upbringing from their low-life parents. Look up to your father and your grandfather.

Let them inspire you to be an even greater person. Get yourself educated and most importantly grow up and contribute to the our country, Malaysia. You may even want to follow your father's footsteps in the future and I think you can be better at giving BN and Umno hell.

James Dean: Before this episode, I thought KJ was Umno's best hope, but really he is no different. Anything BN is dirty, from top to bottom. I won't touch them with a 10-foot-pole.

Josephine: While KJ may lament that BN politicians, Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, are often the targets, there is a vital difference.

First, these are public figures while LGE's son is not. Also, the story they publicised is but lies, while the story of the RM24 million diamond ring turned out to be true.

Even CSL's (Chua Soi Lek) infamous video turned out to be true, and as a cabinet minister, the video had public interest element.

Hmmmmmm: You mean they just plucked a photo of an innocent girl and claimed her to be a victim of molest? I wonder if she is aware of her new-found fame.

One good thing I can say about Umno-BN members in general is that, ironically, because of their policies of chasing away the best brains from the country and leaving only the mediocre and dim-witted in charge, even their cybertroopers and propaganda unit members aren't too smart in concocting fake scandals.

Pants on Fire: Khairy, honestly I believe that you made a mistake with your comment. I still have faith in you. Why don't you be a gentleman that you always appear to be, and apologise for the lapse in your judgement.

Even if it's true, your comment was in bad taste and uncalled for. If you don't apologise, you will lose quite a bit of support from a large group of us who want you to be PM one day.

Moontime: I know this question may never be answered by KJ and the pro-Umno bloggers: Why in the world would you stoop so low as to destroy a child's life to spite his dad?

What possessed your shallow, poor and egregious mind to initiate a blatant slander to LGE's son? Is it for the sake of political survival, knowing that you shall all be extinct? From now on, I shall refer to KJ as a boy due to his immaturity, lack of courage and mischievous demeanor.

KJ must have underestimated the technological prowess of his enemies. How can he defend himself when the truth 'exploded' in his face?

I have a sneaking suspicion that the pro-Umno bloggers are secretly working in tandem with Pakatan to undermine the credibility of certain Umno politicians so that they won't stand in the upcoming GE and to destroy their political career once and for all.

Almost everyone knew about Dr Mahathir Mohamad's extreme hatred against KJ and I'm not surprised to find out that the orders to eliminate this boy came from Mahathir himself.

Anonymous: This photo is definitely a fake. The girl concern is my daughter's classmate and also her room-mate last year in Wellesley College. She is not a British citizen.

Changeagent: BN politicians better hope and pray that their own children live faultless lives, now that everything, including children and minors, have become open to slander.

They have just opened up a big can of worms for themselves.
