YOURSAY 'Will they dare to protest in an Umno-ruled state and demand for a race track? See where you will end up.'
We're not with Umno, say 4 mat rempit
Onyourtoes:
It does not matter which party the four mat rempit had come from; what they did was wrong.
By the way, why the need for the quartet to deny that they are not associated with Umno? Why the need to declare that they are members of DAP or PAS?
A membership to a political party does not ipso facto confer them loyalty to the party. If they are truly PAS or DAP members, it only shows they have the evil intention to betray the parties.
By the way, why must Umno's Teluk Bahang assemblyperson Dr Hilmi Yahya receive the four? And why must the state build a racing track for mat rempit? What culture are they trying to promote and what benefit can the track bring to Penang?
The mat rempit should continue racing on our roads and highways and let the law of nature takes its course. They will not be missed.
Bender: Wait a minute, I'm a bit confused, let me get this straight.
These ‘warga emas' (senior citizens), who claim themselves to be mat rempit (could somebody check Bukit Aman's statistics and see the average age of the mat rempit in Malaysia, just to make sure these are genuine mat rempit, because their age seem a bit off the usual demographics here), came forward apparently because they have a guilty conscience and would like to clarify that Umno was not involved in their protest last Monday.
What is it to them that they take all the trouble to come forward and defend Umno's innocence? I mean, it's not like they have committed a heinous crime like running over a child with their motorbike or something like that.
Why not come and take this opportunity to reinstate their demand for the race track, instead of trying to prove that they are actually not Umno's lackeys?
Anonymous: For them to deny their ties with Umno is like posting a sign saying, "There is no gold buried here."
Anonymous_4196: What a selfish bunch. The state coffers should be used to help the poor, schools and channelled to other more pressing matters instead of building a mat rempit race circuit.
Go to the Sepang race circuit, and pay from your own pocket to use it.
Blind Freddo: What a strange country. Or is it me who's strange? I though mat rempit were under/unemployed guys in their teens and 20s.
So where did these 38- and 39-year-olds come from? And as to mat rempit being members of political parties, the next thing you will be telling me is that there is an Umno branch in the local drug rehabilitation centre.
These mat rempit must be from among the pampered Malays if they think they can demand the state government to build them a race track.
Why don't they get off their motorbikes and do something for themselves. And finally, do tell me how a race track is going to solve the social woes of the poor and downtrodden?
Karma: Deny all you want, those who gathered with their motorbikes last Monday and made noise are wrong. Moreover, calling Penang CM Lim Guan Eng a racist is the wrong way to ask for a race track.
These DAP and PAS members are a disgrace to their parties. Will they dare to protest in an Umno-ruled state and demand for a race track? See where you will end up.
James Daniel: The man is 36 years old and still a rempit? Come on, grow up. What type of role model are you to your kids at home?
Jeremy Ng: Irrespective of which parties they belong, mat rempit are a nuisance to society and themselves.
They are brainless in using standard motorbikes for racing. For those who modified their bikes, it may not be within safety guidelines. All these dumb nuts, if they want to race, should make sure they have proper equipments.
It is shocking that this group of nuisance called themselves an NGO and demanded a race track.
Maybe we should get a bunch of drug addicts to form an NGO and demand a place to carry out their drug habits. A BN political party can be their patron.
Anakpulau: Like it or not, we Penangnites know best who are the people behind the continuous disturbance at the state government headquarters in Komtar or at the state assembly building since Pakatan Rakyat took over the rein of government.
In practically every illegal gathering, the main theme is the same. The political agenda is simple - to promote hatred and dissatisfaction against the DAP-led government as being anti-Malay and anti-Islam.
We are fed up with all the rhetoric to divide and destroy the good ethnic ties among the people in Penang.
Anonymous: It really doesn't matter which party these people are from, everyone is free to join a political party.
The fact remains that these are people without a clue as to the real issues afflicting our country. Certainly these are not the people you can count on to make our country a better place for all of us.
AnonymousBersih: What do you call an old mat rempit? Pak rempit.
