The Umno general assembly kicked off with Muhyiddin Yassin launching a blistering attack against Pakatan Rakyat, accusing everything they do to be against Malay interests.

In his speech at the officiation of the youth, wanita and puteri wings, Muhyiddin started off with DAP, accusing the party of attempting to form a republic.

He said that a republic sought by DAP would set aside the values, history and integrity of Malaysia as a country which is based on the sovereignty of the Malay rulers and Islam as the religion of the federation.

"They dare to suggest that the prime minister's position to be elected directly and not appointed by the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong. What does this mean?

NONE "It means that the democratic parliamentary system and the constitutional monarchy which we have been practising thus far no longer suit their interest to seize power," he said.

Muhyiddin ( right) said since DAP had governed Penang and formed a major component of the Pakatan-administered states of Perak and Selangor, it had been relentless in its attempt to undermine the Malays.

"It's as though that gives them the biggest licence to the most racist party to spread their extremist chauvinist attitudes," he said.

DAP ‘using' the Malays

He said DAP does not respect the Malaysia Rulers, government officers who are mostly Malay, condemned the security forces and enforcement authorities, attacked the judiciary and were puppet masters of a certain group of Malays.

DAP was also accused of causing divisions among Muslims and non-Muslims by promoting their own ideas in the name of religious freedom.

"DAP never sees anything good with the Malays and Islam," he said.

But yet, Muhyiddin said DAP was actively trying to entice Malays to join their party with positions and promises to be made election candidates.

"If they win, they will stand the opportunity to be appointed as exco or menteri besar in certain states. The rewards are very attractive.

"But Malays must be cautious. Don't be fooled by DAP's evil tricks. The purpose of this party, that is the most racist, is not to give power to the Malays, let alone hand the party leadership to the Malays.

"DAP only wants these poor Malays to become their mules whose job is only to look after the interest of the chauvinist DAP," he said.

PKR - Ultra-liberal yet religious

Muhyiddin spent less time condemning PKR, calling it a party with a sole agenda of defending its unelected party leader who is facing a credibility crisis.

"How can the position of our religion, race and country be defended by PKR which has a leader that is bogged down by credibility problems?" he asked.

He said the party was now split into two factions - the ultra-liberals and the religious - who are using different means to achieve the same purpose, which is to defend the party leader.

As for traditional rivals PAS, Muhyiddin remarked that the party was no longer pursuing its Islamic state agenda, because it was opposed by DAP and PKR.

"They were so committed towards (an Islamic state) to the point they will accuse anyone unsupportive of their struggle to be a khafir (infidel). Umno was called a taghut (transgressor) for not supporting PAS' mould for an Islamic state.

"Strangely, PAS never called PKR and DAP a taghut . Far from that. PAS instead accepted the two parties as partners with equal status. The Islamic state is no longer in PAS' political dictionary," he said.

‘DAP has replaced PAS'

Making a pun on one of PAS' mottos - ‘PAS to replace Umno' - Muhyiddin said in reality, it was DAP that was replacing PAS.

"When DAP speaks about Islam, PAS lets them be. DAP leaders quote two three verses from the Quran, though wrongly, PAS defends them. A DAP leader refers to himself as Khalifah Umar Abdul Aziz, PAS endorses it. DAP leaders speak, PAS supporters shout takbir !

"But when PAS speaks about the Islamic state, it is DAP who are first to attack PAS. Even when criticised, PAS maintains silence. What does this mean? It means DAP is defining Islam that is being practiced by PAS... Does this not mean DAP is replacing PAS?" he asked.

He said PAS had now using its welfare state agenda in order to please DAP instead of fighting for an Islamic state.

"Unfortunately, PAS had for decades fought for an Islamic state, but in the end, said that the Islamic state concept does not exist in the Quran.

"This means that PAS had been lying to Muslims with their false struggle," he said.

Leaders of the three wings would be addressing delegates tomorrow morning.
