YOURSAY 'It's Umno warlords against warlords, all fighting to keep their place in the feeding trough for the time they have left.'

Cheras Umno accuses Shahrizat's aides of 'assault'

vox populi small thumbnail Cannon: In the infighting within Umno over the spoils of power, the fig leaf of race, religion and nation is falling off.

The niceties about unity and loyalty to the party, pledged at the recent Umno general assembly, are all but forgotten.

It's warlords against warlords, all fighting to keep their place in the feeding trough for the time they have left.

This is a precursor to further turbulence when PM Najib Razak announces Umno's electoral candidates. Alas, Malaysians may get to see the cows coming home for Umno.

Ksn: Cheras Umno, were you not at your party's AGM earlier? Did you not notice the lady rolling up her sleeves?

What does that say to Umno and its members. Keep off or you will face the consequences, was her message. And the Umno delegates thought she was warning Pakatan Rakyat. How sad and silly!

Even the prime minister, who is Umno president, does not dare do or say anything to the lady, her cows, condos and the RM250 million!

Tpn: Now we have ‘wanita' (women) gangsters in the party. Will Umno take action against them? Let's wait and see. I hope to see TV3 and Utusan Malaysia reporting on this case.

Anonymous_4031: Some questions need answers, especially when public funds are used. Whether it is for buying cows or goats is beside the point.

The fact that the National Feedlot Corporation account was audited by the auditor-general indicated that it was not a private loan.

Since it was not a private loan, then it must be a public loan from the government; and hence taxpayers should be concerned about it. Why did the AG say it was in a mess?

Voters must keep their eyes and ears open when their money is involved.

Tan Heng Ken: The same tactics that have been used by Umno for more than 50 years to intimidate anyone who opposes or disagrees with them is now used internally among the pack.

This is a clear sign that the good times are gone and the end is very near.

DAP disclaims ambition for Selangor MB post

Shanandoah: Hello Pakatan Rakyat, your seat allocation may not be what the Selangorians want. PKR and PAS must give up a couple of seats each to accommodate DAP on an equal footing.

This can be done with the seats that were lost to BN at the last elections. Seats vacated by ‘frogs' and deadwoods are the best for DAP to win. The question of MB does not arise.

1MalaysiaCina: DAP's Teresa Kok is either not too smart or pretending to be a dumb. If DAP wins all the 15 seats it contests - which is not impossible - and PKR wins 10 seats and PAS four seats, Pakatan will form the government in Selangor.

It does not need a genius to figure which party will be clamouring for the MB post. If DAP is not interested in the post, why was Kok been nominated for the deputy MB's post?

Secondly, it is common knowledge DAP is nurturing Khir Johari's son Zairil to stand for election in Bukit Gasing. With the untimely death of Edward Lee yesterday, the way is now opened for Zairil to contest.

Kok, please do not speak with forked tongue. The Bible says "thou shall not lie", so be a Christian first then a politician.

Proarte: This talk of the menteri besar's post is foolhardy and DAP is not focusing on it. They are looking at maximising their representation in the state assembly and Parliament.

Let us not forget that the state constitution bars non-Malays from holding the post of MB unless there is special dispensation from the sultan.

So talk of the MB's post is really the work of DAP's enemies, including Umno. They can then accuse the DAP of being ‘biadap' (insolent) towards the sultan. DAP knows the game too well.

They should just keep their head down, work hard for the people and come up with sound policies. The rakyat will then reward them at the ballot box.

Anonymous_4031: With the GE (general election) looming large, all sorts of fantastic stories will emerge. Earlier, there was the allegation that DAP was promoting a Christian PM and even make Christianity the religion of the nation.

The Federal Constitution is clear on the position of the PM: he or she must enjoy the majority support of MPs as practised in any democratic nation. Islam is the official religion of the nation; while people of other faiths could practise theirs. These two are fundamental issues.

But, of course, liars will make stories to get Malay support which has gone to Pakatan. But they cannot fool the people.

Lee KC: The Chinese voters in Selangor are not interested in the top post. Just give us an honest and transparent MB and a state government which rule with the interest of all the rakyat in mind. That's all we ask.
