Christians are awaiting Hasan's apology

YOURSAY 'PAS leaders may have forgiven him for talking bad about the party in public but did he apologise for his remarks in relation to non-Muslims? No.'

Hasan Ali meets top PAS leaders, says sorry

Akucina: The ulterior motive for his apology is to remain in PAS, hopefully to be re-nominated and elected, and thereafter attack the party till kingdom comes.

Let's take a look at Selangor PAS exco Hasan Ali's moves. In 2008 - held talks with Umno (diehard enemy) on PAS-Umno unity. Ambitious to be the menteri besar at all costs. Created havoc and projected extreme views and actions in Selangor, thus giving PAS a bad name/image.

Supported and participated in the Umno-sponsored Himpun rally. Met with Umno agents in Le Meridian hotel. Lambasted PAS for its ‘welfare state' policy.

Indeed, a chameleon can change its colour, but never change its skin.

Lim Chong Leong: Hasan is worried after getting wind that he will not be fielded as a candidate at the general election. For me, his apology to PAS leaders is not enough.

He must apologise to all Christians and non-Muslims if he really has changed his bigoted ways and it is up to those injured whether to accept his apology.

His apology to PAS leaders seems insincere and means nothing to those hurt by his remarks.

Anonymous_3da0: Hasan should not be accepted as candidate in the next GE.

I think Hasan just realised his gambit has failed and he would be useless to his political masters if he fails to keep his position in PAS. I had the feeling that PAS has had enough of his pro-Umno ways.

Thiswayoutplease: Hasan Ali, I am not a Malay nor am I a Muslim and I have not a drop of royal blood in me. Are you now going to protect my interest now that you have apologised to PAS?

There are millions of Malaysians who fall under this category and we are waiting for your answer.

Disgusted: He may have apologised and made peace with PAS higher-ups probably with Umno's prompting so that he may land a seat for the next elections. However, the rakyat are not buying it, especially those in Gombak Setia.

If he is fielded as a candidate by PAS in Selangor, consider the seat as lost. He is not suitable to be an Adun (state representative). Period.

Nik V: PAS needs to understand that his apology means little as it is not a reflection of what this man holds in his heart against non-Muslims. You keep him, you lose some non-Muslim votes as they are the ones he has targeted with his prejudices and unintelligent words.

Unless he meets and reconciles with the Christians he has been attacking with his words and actions, the wounds will not heal and many will turn against PAS.

Blind Freddo: Hasan Ali failed to get nominated by his branch members. End of story. Then he turned around and proved beyond all doubt that he was a totally unsuitable candidate for any party. End of Hasan Ali.

If PAS attempts to resurrect him, they will simply be doing an Umno/Shahrizat Abdul Jalil. And that is not democratic. My suspicions are that PAS will just be another Umno.

Geronimo: Does that mean Hasan Ali will go back to his old Christian-bashing ways? Will he be picked for the coming GE13? If yes, will he be made to stand as a candidate in Selangor again? We need to know before we cast our votes.

LiveRight: I am from Gombak. If he is fielded, will he get mine and my family's votes? Definitely not.

He hated non-Muslims - especially the Christians. This is definitely against the teaching of Islam, thus making him non-Muslim in deeds.

He apologised just to get back his nomination. Once achieved, he is going be as devilish as before, if not worse.

Multi Racial: He did so much wrong to the non-Muslims, especially the Christians. The damaged has been done. What he apologised to PAS top leaders was his recalcitrant behaviour. When he is going to apologise to the non-Muslims?

What Hasan Ali did cannot be easily forgiven. Such politician should not be given a role in defining our future as the non-Muslims will not trust him. So if PAS top leaders can forgive him so easily, that is their problem.

But if they field him as candidate in the next GE, Malaysians should go all out to make sure he lose unless he apologises to the Christians and admits that he was wrong to raid the church (Damansara Utama Methodist Church).

If he refuse to apologise, my advice to the PAS leadership is to drop him.

Ashoka PJ: I agree with Multi Racial. He has done so much damage to the non-Muslims and he should also apologise to them.

The PAS leaders may have forgiven him for talking bad about the party in public but did he apologise for his remarks in relation to non-Muslims? No. He clearly did not.

That makes him unsuitable to be voted into office. We, the rakyat, including myself who is a Muslim, will not forgive him for his actions and words against my non-Muslim brothers and sisters.

I just cannot understand why the Malay Muslims cannot understand that the non-Muslims are here to stay and that we all have to learn to live harmoniously as willed by Allah s.w.t.

All these rabid racist remarks are not Islamic. If you are a racist, please don't pretend to be Islamic. If PAS fields Hasan Ali in my area, BN gets my vote.

Cannon: Cornered by the resolve of the PAS leadership to deal with him, Hasan blinked and backed down.

He is more useful to his handlers to remain in PAS. It's like keeping Ibrahim Ali inside PAS to champion 'ketuanan Melayu'.
