Shahrizat clan can't get away with mere denials
YOURSAY 'Now show us where you got the money to buy so many condos and if it's not from the NFC soft loan, we will let you off.'
NFC under 'Machiavellian attack', laments Izran
Trumpet Call:
We all are familiar with the saying ‘there is no smoke without fire'. Instead of putting the fire out by coming out with facts and figures to rebut the allegations, National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) executive director Wan Shahinur Izran Salleh chooses to divert our the attention to attacking PKR as a kind of smokescreen.
It doesn't work. The reason is simple. The evidence is too overwhelming to deny and the corrupt practices are far too blatant to ignore. What has been unearthed is tantamount to daylight robbery before our very eyes.
This is raw, unashamed pilfering of the highest order. Guess what? The rakyat are angry and we cannot simply be fooled or distracted by any diversionary tactics until justice is done.
Kosongcafe: If everything had been transparent, there wouldn't be so much attack from the opposition (after all, no ammunition).
As with so many other cases, ministers were involved in getting lucrative deals when in positions of power, with MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) turning a blind eye.
In this case, if the expensive car, condos and lands were bought using their own money (the family must be very rich indeed) without touching the soft loan, then show us so that we know the accusers lied.
This is just like PM's wife Rosmah Mansor being accused of so many things. Had Najib Razak used his own money instead (he could well afford being son of the second PM), who would dare question his wife's expensive taste?
The traits seem to be: making full use of position and power; hanging on to positions; and instead of explaining, attack the accusers instead.
Onyourtoes: Irzan, I think spinning is only done by you and your family. Many allegations made by PKR were specific and unknown to the public. How dare you say everything is transparent?
Surely we did not know the purchase of high-end condos in Singapore and Malaysia before this. So far not even one specific allegation was denied or confirmed by you or your family. You think you have the right to be upset by all these revelations? Well, we are more upset.
If one backdoor minister at the fringe of power could obtain such a lucrative deal, I struggle to think of what more powerful ministers within the ruling establishment could have done for themselves and their families.
Lim Chong Leong: They are always saying that Pakatan Rakyat is twisting the facts. So what are the real facts that you have always been transparent about that we have yet to see?
In your press conferences and dialogues with NGOs, you came late and left early and answered nothing.
Now show us where you got the money to buy so many condos and if not from the NFC soft loan, we will let you off.
Smike27: You are right Irzan, you are not hiding anything but you are hiding behind all the not hiding things. So come out with all the details of your company's account statements and prove the auditor-general and Pakatan wrong.
Fencesitter: This man is drawing RM20,000-RM30,000 per month as his salary. If he is smart, he should explain those condos, Mercedes Benz, credit card expenses, overseas holiday and etc, in relation to the NFC.
He should tell Malaysians that the cows imported from Australia need to stop over in Singapore before coming to Malaysia due to visa problem. Reaching Malaysia, they need to transfer to Bangsar to acclimatise themselves to the local climate. Only then, they are sent to Gemas.
Shanandoah: Izran, just tell us why you are paid that much money as salary. Are you really, at the age of 27, worth that much money to run a cow busines?
This also applies to other members of your family, who together earn about RM215,000 every month. Can you please justify this before you talk more rubbish. Period.
Bob Teoh: NFC simply means ‘No Financial Credibility'. NFC is a national scandal involving public funds. To regain its credibility NFC must produced an external audit report accounting for the use of public funds by way of its soft loan.
What NFC has done thus far is mere denial. Meanwhile, Izran's mother Shahrizat Abdul Jalil should resign instead of pouting and calling its nemesis names like ‘jambu' (pretty boy).
Wanderer: "We are honest in making the National Feedlot Centre a success, and it takes time," said Izran.
Could you explain how you took the money from the soft loan invested in properties, car and spending lavishly on company account, as justifiable actions in developing NFC?
Either, you think we are too dumb to understand your dodgy actions or we simply see you as a ‘big cheat'.
Gandhi: In movies, New York police will always say to the accused that they have the right to remain quiet. I think this young upstart should not speak and expose himself to ridicule and shame.
Izran is actually provoking PKR to reveal all the dirt. PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli is the kind of young leaders we should support.
Way to go Rafizi, you have proven yourself as an able leader by thrashing Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin at the London debate .
Nik V: Sure you will be cleared. We and you expect nothing less. You all have enjoyed the privilege and patronage of being the husband and children of Shahrizat.
I cannot believe that the Shahrizat clan does not have a morsel of conscience or decency to know that the only reason they are in this business is because of their mother's association with Umno-BN.
When you have enjoyed such wealth through these advantages, sooner or later you would begin to rationalise and justify the favours you have gained.
Just because you actually did do some work and business in the NFC, we all know that it does not cover up for the fact such crony way of enriching you by paying exorbitant salaries and making investments that cannot be justified.
Up2U: What is the criteria to qualify for a RM250 million government soft loan?
Have a good proposed project? Many have. Be a Malay and a bumiputera? Millions qualify. Having the right connections? Selected few have.
Be an immediate family member of top Umno leaders? Privileged few. That's how to do business in Malaysia and getting rich straight away. Guaranteed.
