The movement calling for the abolishment of English as a medium of instruction of science and mathematics (PPSMI), will hold another rally soon.
Anti-PPSMI coalition group leader Dr Shaharir Mohamad Zain told
Harakah Daily
that the rally will be held at Pagoh, Johor - the parliamentary constituency of Education Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
Shahril said that the rally will be held in early April and aims to pressure the federal government into abolishing PPSMI immediately.
Currently, the federal government aims at abolishing PPSMI by 2016 for primary schools and 2021 for secondary schools.
"Although the government has announced that PPSMI will be abolished, recently, we notice some groups are trying to revive it," he said.
Shahril was speaking at a ceramah last night in Gombak, Selangor to commemorate the third anniversary of the movement's street rally .
It was likely that he was referring a pro-PPSMI rally at Dataran Petaling Jaya yesterday, organised by Concerned Parents of Selangor (CPS). [Video here ]
Shahril said that the anti-PPSMI movement has only achieved 60 percent of its objectives and needs to step up efforts.
