Senator S Nallakaruppan, a former close ally of Anwar Ibrahim, said he would ignore the opposition leader’s demand for an apology and retraction of his remarks against the latter.

The Malaysian Indian United Party president said he was willing to see Anwar in court.

“I would not bother about this notice and I will continue to speak out against Anwar. It would be an honour for me if Anwar brings the matter to court. He can it even file the case next week.

Also at the press conference were two other personalities – Ummi Hafilda, the estranged sister of PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, and senator Ezam Mohd Nor, the former PKR Youth chief.

On Tuesday, Anwar said he would take legal action against the Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia and Nallakaruppan for a front-page report alleging that he is a bisexual and unfit to lead the opposition.

PKR vice-president N Surendran ( below ) had also said the allegations attributed to Nallakaruppan are completely false, politically motivated and the worst kind of gutter journalism.

Meanwhile, Umi Hafilda, who had previously constantly launched  attacks on Anwar through her nationwide ceramah, said she shall divulge more "evidence" of Anwar misbehavior in the upcoming general election.

One of which is a photo showing Anwar, Nallakaruppan and a woman known as "shamsidar" in a car, Umi Hafilda added.

"More proof is on the way. I will make Anwar and Azmin run in shame with no place to hide ( lari tak cukup tanah )," she said, adding that all she is waiting for now is for the prime minister to announce the polls date.
