Scandals galore: Pakatan spoilt for choice

VOXPOP ‘Confidence is good, Nizar. But not over-confidence. Stay focused. Be prepared for every dirty tactic to be used against Pakatan.'

Nizar: Rosmah's ring, NFC scandal keys to regain Perak

vox populi small thumbnail Ksn: The issues are plenty for Pakatan Rakyat to exploit as we all know. I hope they have the strategy to reach those less informed about the scandals of the Umno-BN government for the last 30 years.

The country has been taken in the wrong direction and it has to be put back on the right track.

The abuses are of all kinds - funds, laws, lack of integrity, incompetency, extravagance with public funds, the list can be very long.

All those are issues to be aired and told to the people especially in the rural areas, who are without exposure to impartial views.

That is where Pakatan has to concentrate. Ordinary people will respond to truth. Trust them and leave no stone unturned to convey it to them.

The present government is in panic and that is why they are so defensive. Leave Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah's views aside - he is right, but he does not want to contribute.

Smartvoters: Pakatan, be creative in disseminating your messages, plans and policies to the voters.

Start now, not when Parliament is dissolved because the voters will by then be overloaded with information which they can't digest or absorb.

Identify the issues the rural voters feel most strongly about and feed them with information on those issues.

Malay personalities such as national laureate A Samad Said and ex-Commercial Crimes Investigation Department chief Ramli Yusuff and ex-Criminal Investigation Department chief Mat Zain Ibrahim, will surely be effective campaigners among the Malays.

The refusal by PM Najib Razak and Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein to set up a tribunal to investigate the issues they raised against attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail and former inspector-general of police Musa Hassan, will definitely resonate among the Malays as well.

Dont Just Talk: Ousted Perak MB Nizar Jamaluddin and Pakatan should stay focused and not be made complacent by the praises heaped on them by former finance minister Daim Zainuddin and Razaleigh.

Nizar should capitalise on the abuse of power and corruption by Umno-BN - Rosmah Mansor's RM24 million diamond ring and Umno Wanita chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil's family's involvement in the RM250 million NFC (National Feedlot Corporation) scandal.

What about the Scorpene submarines, in which the commission alone was RM500 million and the PKFZ (Port Klang Free Zone) RM12.5 billion loss?

Explain to the honest, rural Malays in simple terms which they can understand and get the urban Malay youths who are returning home to explain to their parents, siblings and relatives why reformasi has to take place.

Free and Fair Election: Confidence is good, Nizar. But not over-confidence. Stay focused. Be prepared for every dirty tactic to be used against you and your team.

My only regret over the Perak power grab incident is that Pakatan didn't have enough capable MPs at that time to stick together.

But that is forgivable as Pakatan was glued together in a rush after 2008. This time, correct your mistakes and build for yourself a stronger team of MPs around you.

DPM: Dong Zong's sidelining claim 'a big lie'

Justice Pao: 1,700 vacancies with 1,400 filled with temporary teachers and DPM Muhyiddin Yassin said the Chinese schools enjoy the same standard.

This 'Malay 1st DPM' is the one telling a big lie. Temporary teachers are not provided the same training to teach in school as those trained permanently-employed teachers. Their jobs are not secure, so how can they provide the same quality of education as trained teachers?

Most of the vernacular schools, especially those popular schools, have to raised funds themselves for any expansion of the schools.

My children, my nephews and nieces and most of my friends' children attending vernacular schools have to 'donate' to help the schools because the BN government does not provide the schools equivalent allocation as given to national schools.

All those with children in vernacular schools can judge for themselves who are the big liar.

Onyourtoes: It is so typical - when not able to do anything right, what DPM Muhyiddin Yassin did was to blame others and throw more insult.

Why not we compare the vernacular schools with national schools based on the following: number of pupils per class, the general condition of school building, the amenities in the class rooms like fans, tables and chairs, sports equipment, study aids, students per teacher ratio, etc.

It is easy for you to highlight allocations to vernacular schools. First, your officers could be lying, second, the money could always be siphoned elsewhere.

Pronto: "Annually there are some 20,000 teachers who become pregnant which also contributes to the problem, he (Muhyiddin) explained."

If 20,000 pregnant teacher created the shortage, you better tell them not to get pregnant. What a lame excuse from a minister who in charge of education. Fifty years you cannot solve the problem, so you need another 50 years.

JooGuan: Assuming that Mr DPM was sincere when making the statement, this proves that BN government is not capable of understanding any pressing issue and how can we hope that the BN government can resolve the current issues and bring our nation to the next level?

By the way, this is consistent with the BN leaders' claim that there is no corruption in this country. May be they are ignorant or don't understand what corruption is?
