Nor Mohamed: If BN loses, we go back to 1511
Malaysia will go back in time to 1511, when the bumiputera agenda did not exist, should Pakatan Rakyat win the next general election, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nor Mohamed Yakcop.
Malaysia will go back in time to 1511, when the bumiputera agenda did not exist, should BN lose the 13th general election, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nor Mohamed Yakcop.
Nor Mohamed was referring to the year where Alfonso de Albuquerque of Portugal conquered Malacca, ousting the Sultanate of Malacca, establishing the first western-controlled city in Southeast Asia.
Speaking to reporters in Tasik Gelugor, Penang, Nor Mohamed said this was because the opposition pact did not have the capability to pursue the bumiputera agenda.
"We are not sure if the government under the opposition will stick to the concept of the bumiputera agenda. If they come to power, automatically, we will go back to the period in 1511," he said, according to Bernama .
The proof of this, said Nor Mohamed, is in the alleged of Malays by the DAP-led state government.
Nor Mohamed, who is the Tasek Gelugor MP, said such a condition could have been avoided if BN continued to be in power in the state.
He expressed confidence that BN would retain power in Putrajaya and also in other states with the increasing show of support and confidence among the people in the coalition.
