Malaysia Today
online portal where Raja Petra Kamaruddin had claimed that Anwar, who was then the deputy prime minister had covered up investigations involving Azmin’s corruption case that ran into millions of ringgit.
“There are claims made by senior Anti-Corruption Agency officers that there was a directive to stop investigations against Azmin and to close the files although there was enough evidence to detain and charge him. So we want the MACC to reopen the file,” he told reporters after lodging a report at the MACC office in Putrajaya today.
Yesterday, Raja Petra had alleged that Anwar Ibrahim used his influence to stop investigations against Azmin, claiming he had received a confidential file from a senior ACA officer dated May 15, 1995, in London last month.
