Brain drain actually good news for BN

YOURSAY 'Now BN has less intelligent citizens to worry about - just keep the simple-minded rural folk and the foreigners as voters, and victory is assured. "

Death knell for brain-drain reversal'

Changeagent: your say Lim Guan Eng, you have completely missed the point. This brain-drain epidemic is the exact scenario that the BN government desperately wants in order to maintain their own stranglehold on Putrajaya.

Think about it, the graduates who leave Malaysia are the same people who are so disgruntled by the way that the country has been mismanaged by a corrupt government that is mired in endless controversies.

They are the ones who are least likely to vote for BN, so their exodus will hardly be missed by the government. The government doesn't really care about achieving high-income status for the country.

Their sole reason for existence is to rule Malaysia until the end of eternity so that they continue to rob, steal and plunder the nation's wealth for themselves unabated and to their heart's content.

The brain-drain situation is the least of all their worries.

Headhunter: With a stroke of the pen (giving foreign students work visas for up to four years after graduation), Australia will end up with an endless supply of bright overseas graduates. Needless to say, Malaysia will be one of the biggest losers.

There is going to be a stampede of Malaysian students heading Australia's way. Brain-drain reversal? You can forget about it.

Ace: First Singapore, now Australia - they are actively tapping into our supply of talent. It's a big loss for Malaysia, but real good news to the Umno-BN crooked masters.

Now they have less intelligent citizens to worry about - just get the simple-minded rural folk, the new village folk and supplemented by the Indonesians, Burmese and Bangladeshis as the new breed of voters, and victory is assured for them again and again. How convenient.

DontPlayGod; Umno will be jumping with joy. This is how they want it exactly. They don't want the smart talent to return. The more such talent leave our shores, the happier they will be.

They want more labourers from Indonesia to come and settle here. In that respect, Umno can rule forever. They would even be happier if the smart Malays also leave.

I went to a government department this afternoon and I saw that their organisation chart, which showed its personnel from top to bottom, were all from one race.

If this is not open and unashamed discrimination and apartheid, then what is? Even some private companies have to show that at least more than 30 percent of their manpower must be from the ‘tuan' race at all levels.

But the ‘tuan' government need not reflect any fairness in their manpower recruitment. The government recruits their employees all from one race. And this is how Umno calls it fair. It seems that it is nobody's business if Umno practises apartheid.

Malaysian Down Under: I have a PhD from Oxford and a Masters from Imperial College, both in engineering. Both were obtained on father-mother scholarship. I also worked part-time as a college lecturer at Oxford to make ends meet.

I joined an Australian university and within two years, appointed the head of program (Postgraduate Engineering) at the university. I will probably apply for citizenship in November 2013.

I love Australia. God bless Australia, my new home.

Dont Equate Dogs With BN/PDRM: As a Malaysian expat who could have returned home after graduation four years ago but chose not to, I can tell you that I receive way better treatment here than I will be in Malaysia.

At the very least, I am not marginalised because of my race, and I am recognised because of my merits.

Anonymous #69504705: I have a friend whose son was fortunate enough to be awarded a PSD (Public Service Department) scholarship overseas.

This boy is very bright, multi-talented in studies, sport and the arts and graduated at the very top of his class. He returned as he was required to, but was told by the officers in PSD that there was no job for him.

He was told that if there was no job for him within six months, he would be released from his bond and he could go back to Australia. It was then made clear to him that he would be unlikely to get an offer anyway, so he could leave immediately.

Which he did, and of course, he was welcomed back to his old university warmly. I doubt he will return.

Kazakh: Malaysia under Umno-BN cannot afford to have too many bright and smart students coming home to be rabble rousers and shake up their crony-infected world.

They much prefer the lazy and waiting-for-hand-outs types.
