Tee Yong, time to cut your losses
YOURSAY 'It is a known fact that Chua Soi Lek junior made a mockery of himself, his party and BN with his half-baked accusation.'
MCA: If DAP is so good, help S'gor with White Paper
Maplesyrup:
The Talam debt settlement is well-documented and one just needs to read Bursa Malaysia's announcements, and of course, the documents submitted to Securities Commission and Bursa.
What the public needs to know is not the debt settlement, but rather, how was Talam allowed to owe the state government so much money, why these debts were conveniently never recorded, and why this company was given so much land by the BN-run Selangor state government.
Had the Pakatan Rakyat government not been vigilant enough and brought the debts into books (instead of being off balance sheet hence nobody would ever know), one wonders who would have stood to collect the millions that are now in the Selangor government's coffers.
This is what I hate about BN - they are the people who did the bad things, but they have the gall to train the cannon at others as if they are completely sinless.
Thetruth: This Talam problem was created by the previous BN administration and Pakatan is trying to solve it. Pakatan has done a good job on this matter, and bear in mind nothing in this world is perfect.
As for MCA, they were part of the previous BN state government and as such they are part of the problem. MCA knows 90 percent of the Chinese do not support them, so what is there to lose?
1Malaysia2Agama: Our late PM Tunku Abdul Rahman once said, "It is better to have a stupid but honest PM rather than a clever but dishonest PM."
Selangor is lucky that for the first time in Malaysia's history, we have an adequately qualified and experienced MB in Khalid Ibrahim. Selangor has a bonus as Khalid is clean as a whistle and free of corruption.
Of course, he is politically naive at times when dealing with the ex-Umno sharks within PKR. We hope that PKR leaders, especially Anwar Ibrahim, will have some "cow sense" to reappoint Khalid as MB come GE13.
Up2U: Dear MCA, even if DAP is not up to the mark or for that matter inexperienced in governing, so what? They are learning and it's only been four years.
What have MCA done these past 55 years except to beg? Up to now, MCA is still in denial mode. The problem is not with governance, but corruption.
Noni: If MCA is so good at corporate accounting, please help return the rakyat's money over the PKFZ (Port Klang Free Zone) fiasco.
Anonymous #15167679: I am against corruption and have been following this saga from day one.
What Pakatan/DAP have given are clear data and facts. And what CTY (Chua Tee Yong) said are non-factual twists and turns to justify his allegations and save his face.
MB Khalid said a White Paper shall be presented at the end of the year, so bear with it. Moreover, it will be backed up by independent audit firms. So why the fuss, as if there are no other scandals to dig...
Multi Racial: This is the way BN twists and turns things and now MCA is doing the same.
Twisting and turning things is as good as lying. It is a known fact that Chua Soi Lek junior made a mockery of himself, his party and BN with his half-baked accusation.
He initially said the scandal involved RM1 billion, which was reduced several times and now he changed the issue into something else. This episode is a classic case of getting it wrong. The best one could do is to admit one's mistake and move on.
But twisting and turning the issues into something different is just irresponsible. Can MCA chief Chua Soi Lek and other MCA leaders ask Tee Yong to apologise to the Selangor government and the public, and then shut up from there on?
Anonymous #47094963: Really, Tee Yong? If MCA/BN will cooperate with Pakatan, they would be very happy to help you to come up with a White Paper to resolve the NFC (National Feedlot Corporation), Scorpene, PKFZ and other much larger alleged corruption scandals.
You can choose to keep going after the ‘ikan bilis', or cooperate to make sure justice is served on those involved and that the rakyat get their monies back.
Chuath: Tee Yong has any real work to do? They all sound like small boys at school challenging each other - "you so clever, you do lah ".
MCA makes statements that started a whole round of press conferences and now they turn around to make childish statements.
Please go get some well-known auditor to go through all the documents and wait for the results.
Louis: Tee Yong, if you have no materials, keep your mouth shut. You thought that you have cornered the Selangor government by your exposure of the so-called RM1 billion scandal.
Sad to say it wasn't. And despite being corrected by Tony Pua, you still insisted on pursuing the matter.
Inviting you to a debate is the right way to settle the issue. It is a shame that you started off like a hero and now chicken out like a coward.
Anonymous #72737246: Chua Junior, the community is asking even more relevant and valid questions as to what MCA is doing to rectify BN discriminatory policies.
If MCA was that good in allowing such discriminatory policies to take root, show that you are relevant in removing them.
Until then, please never ever again claim that MCA represents the Chinese community. The members of the community get embarrassed and don't know where to hide their faces each time you do that.
BlueApple: The White Paper on Talam will be published before the GE13. We will know more about the backdoor dealings between Talam and BN, the then-state government. This is indeed what CTY is scared of.
It is so obvious these clowns want to perform, but the scripts are so badly written that the plot has lost its meaning. They do not even deserve to be in the show. The audience has already gone to sleep.
