An arrogant 'tokong' but at least he's not corrupt

YOURSAY 'No matter how badly Pakatan wants to win Putrajaya, if they don't open their hearts up to one another, it is unlikely they will get there.'

Leaked memo: DAP wants answers from PKR

your say NewMalaysia: I think everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Maybe Penang CM Lim Guan Eng (LGE) is arrogant by Deputy CM Mansor Othman's standard but others might think LGE is firm and serious.

Anyhow, the most important thing is how LGE carries out his duty as chief minister and it is his performance that counts. As long as LGE is not corrupt, I have no problem if he wishes to act arrogant.

Plainly: Being arrogant and efficient is a lot better than being corrupt or racist.

YF: This makes one wonder what would happen if MCA's minutes are leaked and they say bad things about Umno leaders. Is that okay for PKR?

Penang PKR has just proven that they are nothing but a sham and not worth the support of the rakyat. It's time Pakatan Rakyat get their act together.

Anonymous #05023297: OK, he is arrogant according to the opinion of Penang PKR chief Mansor Othman. So what's the big deal?

Arrogant has been used to described being difficult to deal with and not budging. It can mean sticking to a principle and not conceding an inch. Get over it.

Lim Chong Leong: The leaked minutes could be a planted by Umno, so I urge all to be patient. If Mansor is such a difficult person, then it will surface eventually and the thorn will be removed if the irritation is bad enough.

But the core Pakatan struggle will continue because it represents the people's struggle against Umno corruption.

Bmjr: Sometimes the truth has to be embellished for a greater cause and if Mansor now goes back on what he has admitted, then let it be. The rakyat's greater good is advanced. On, on to Putrajaya.

Anticommunalist: Everyone considers PKR the weakest link within Pakatan Rakyat but in reality, DAP is the most vulnerable as they are sandwiched between two Islam-dominated parties.

Post-GE, you can be assured that LGE will be brought down to his knees one way or another and it will happen from within, to silence the non-Malays.

Omega: Both DAP and PKR must have a certain misunderstanding. A Chinese deity ' tokong ' became a saint because he did a lot of good when he was alive (in human form). Maybe PKR is trying to praise DAP in that way?

Boiling Mud: Arrogant or not, it is not a matter of gravity to us Penangites. We are only concerned that Penang will fall back into the dark ages like before March 8, 2008. And God forbid.

LGE and his team have done a good job in the past years since taking over the helm to govern Penang state. That matters most, and we appreciate the good work. So stop the squabble and move forward to continue to be a shining example of good governance.

We The Rakyat: Boiling Mud, sorry but can you define dark ages? Also can you help us BN supporters understand what it is that LGE did that brought you all into the age of light?

You seem to believe that just saying such things will suffice for you and those that support DAP/Pakatan, and not proving both - what was BN in the dark ages and what is now under DAP that has brought you the light.

Guan Eng 'arrogant', says Mansor in leaked minutes

Anonymous_3ea8: I am speechless. Was it just me or Mansor just said he can't really work with LGE since he openly decried that the Penang boss is arrogant and acting like a god.

No matter how badly Pakatan wants to win Putrajaya, if they don't open their hearts up to one another, it is unlikely that they will get there.

Ferdtan: A leader does not blubbered like that in an open (though restricted to limited members) meeting. Mansor is childish (in politics) despite of his high educational background.

The points he made were no difference from the trival talks found in coffee shops which many Malaysians like to indulge in.

If he were in Anwar Ibrahim's shoes when all eyes and cameras were focussed on him 24/7 by the BN machineries (with the aid of country's enforcement agencies) such loose talks made by Mansor would have forced him out of politics long ago.

Discretion in politics is paramount. And the most important thing for a leader is knowing who to trust in the party. Sometimes we can understand when a top leader like Anwar does not confide or discuss freely with any person at will.

That balancing act sometimes puts off some minor leaders within the party as such rebuffs are perceived as arrogant.

Anonymous #35068308: DAP, your job is to kick Umno, not to create "tokong".

There is no future for you if you are "arrogant" and ignore your partner. Without others, it is impossible for DAP to wrest Putrajaya.

Opah: If this is what PKR leaders talk about in their confidential, internal meetings then I am relieved. It shows that Mansor is struggling to keep up with the pace set by Lim Guan Eng.

At least, PKR is not like Umno. I am sure in Umno they talk about who gets what project all the time.

Nambekei 7: Mansor and LGE must work together, although both are arrogant when dealing with Umno. You have to be confident to take on Umno and its cronies. When you ‘kowtow' to them (yield), they will bully you.

Donkey Kong: It shows that Pakatan doesn't have what it takes to take power in Putrajaya. They should just focus on getting the states and put together a strong administration.

Unspin: "Arrogance" is a relative term. If you put two LGEs or equivalents together, chances are they will not call each other arrogant.

A correct description for LGE is "confident" but if we need to split hairs, then "super-confident". That is because he believes in his own ability to achieve results in his undertakings.

Mohd: The last few years have proved to be an exciting time - full of dramas and deceit. It had flushed out a lot of traitors.

I believe this news will create another tragic drama that eventually will benefit the rakyat in ways that we can't comprehend at the moment.
