Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat is expected to lead a convoy to the Palace of Judiciary, in Putrajaya this Wednesday, to seek the state's rights for payment of oil royalties.

The event is organised by a group who call themselves the Kelantan Professionals Seeking Oil and Gas Royalty and is timed to commemorate the beginning of the hearing of the Kelantan government's suit against Petronas.

Calling themselves as the 'R' group (for royalty), its president Nazri Deraman said Nik Aziz will attend and head the gathering.

"We receive confirmation this afternoon and the PAS spiritual advisor will also attend the mega talk at Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam on Tuesday," said Nazri according to Harakah .

We will also submit 150,000 signatures on the referendum to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak ( left ) at the Prime Minister's Office on Wednesday," he said.

The Shah Alam programme will also see the attendance of Pakatan Rakyat leaders including PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, PKR de-facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and DAP parliament leader Lim Kit Siang.

Others expected to be in attendance are the Kelantan Oil Royalty Action committee president, Husam Musa, Sabah nationalist movement leader Zainal Ajamain and Sarawak PKR chief Baru Bian.

It was also reported that Zainal and five other Sabah business people had last week filed a suit against Petronas and the Sabah government, seeking the state to have full control over the oil revenue.

It was also reported last month that the Najib government had set-up a special committee headed by former chief justice Abdul Hamid Mohamad to study the issue of oil royalty in the East Coast states.

Influential Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah who was the first Petronas chairperson was reported to have asked the BN government to resolve the state's oil royalty claims issue which had his support.
