Penang Perkasa chief Mohd Rizuad Mohd Azudin today claimed that he suspected Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng had directed the Penang Island Municipal Council (MPPP) to revoke the operating licence of his stall at the Teluk Bahang market in George Town.  

He said the reason cited for the revocation was not operating the business for a month when he had explained that the closure was due to his wife expecting their fourth child.

“I believe the revocation is linked to an incident in Teluk Bahang on June 30 between the chief minister and the people there, and I happened to be present,” he told reporters.

NONE Mohd Rizuad ( left ), who operates a stall selling clothes and daily necessities, said his two appeals to the MPPP were turned down and he was informed in writing on Sept 25 that he could appeal yet again.

Rizuad said he had been paying his rent for the stall every month, but when he asked an MPPP officer why his appeals were rejected, he was told that it was a directive “from the top”.

MPPP president Patahiyah Ismail could not be reached for comment.
