Ismail Sabri calls Tony Pua a 'coward'
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Ismail Sabri Yaacob has described the Member of Parliament for Petaling Jaya Utara, Tony Pua, as a coward for filing a motion to deduct RM10 from his salary for alleged abuse of power for selectively persecuting Suara Initiatif Sdn Bhd.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Ismail Sabri Yaacob has described the member of parliament for Petaling Jaya Utara, Tony Pua, as a coward for filing a motion to deduct RM10 from his salary for alleged abuse of power for selectively persecuting Suara Initiatif Sdn Bhd.
"I was present in Parliament yesterday to give my response to the Suaram (Suara Rakyat Malaysia) and Suara Initiatif issue.
"If he is brave he should have faced me, but I think he is a coward and did not understand what he was talking about," he told reporters after closing the Malaysian Consumer Movement Symposium 2012 in Kajang today.
Pua, who is also DAP publicity chief, yesterday filed the motion at the speaker’s office under Standing Order 66 (9), claiming that Ismail Sabri did so to further Barisan Nasional’s agenda as he had failed to take any action against other companies for making similar mistakes.
Refuting the allegation, Ismail Sabri said Suara Initiatif was in fact one of over 200 companies being investigated by the Companies Commission of Malaysia for allegedly breaching the Companies Act 1965.
"I hope Tony Pua will see me so that I can teach him about the procedures.
"I don’t know whether he is a lawyer or not, but if he is not a lawyer, I might be able to help him understand the Companies Act 1965,” he said.
