Like an arsonist returning to the crime scene
YOURSAY 'Kohilan, be a real man and acknowledge your mistakes. It will make it easier for us to forgive you and give you another chance.'
Kohilan washes his hands off Batu Caves condo
Ferdtan:
The arsonist's habit of returning to the scene of the crime is actually what Deputy Foreign Minister A Kohilan Pillay is displaying for all to see.
He was a MPS councillor for 11 years, serving from 1997 to 2008, and at all material time, he was there with the BN-appointed town councillors that approved the controversial 29-storey condominium near the Batu Caves temple.
It is rather surprising that he dared to show his face together with other MIC protestors to voice opposition to the condo. Only after being shown the fact that he was responsible, he conveniently push the blame to the One Stop Centre of the Selayang Municipal Council.
Indeed, his twisting and turning will not endear himself to his Hindu supporters.
Lamborghini: Kohilan, be a real man and acknowledge your mistakes. It will make it easier for us to forgive you and give you another chance.
When shown it was during your term as councillor that this project was approved, you turned around and deny personal responsibility - this shows the kind of man you actually are.
Any fool knows that when a local council approves a project and anything goes wrong, it is collective responsibility of all those involved.
And worse still, you accuse Pakatan Rakyat councillors for not monitoring the project. Are you kidding? Why should they monitor what you guys approved.
You are a disgrace to our nation as a minister, and to your community. Please do the honourable thing by admitting your role in this fiasco and make way for a more capable, honest and responsible YB to take your place.
Then the rakyat will have some respect for you.
Moontime: BN politicians seem to like egg on their faces. Time and again, their protests against the so-called mismanagement, scandals and allegations of wrongdoing by the Selangor government were proven wrong.
Instead, all the allegations boomeranged back to them. And now, this soon-to-be jobless politician claimed he didn't know about the condo project when the facts clearly stated that the deed was done during his tenure as councillor.
I am extremely incredulous. How can that be? For a highly controversial project, involving a place dear to the Hindus, he had the audacity to claim ignorance about it.
Kohilan, you wanted to embarrass the state government with spurious allegation and it backfired in the worse possible way. It just goes to show what a bunch of nincompoops you and your party really are.
Karma: Since Kohilan had been in MPS for 11 years, he well knew the approval process and who gave the approval. Yet he still went on to accuse the Pakatan government.
This is one cunning man here. Pakatan should sue him for defamation. MIC and former president S Samy Vellu are a real disgrace of being opportunistic in this issue involving temple, politics and Indians.
Bluemountains: The councillors, together with the council president, collectively oversees all the affairs of the council, including the workings of the OSC.
Kohilan is trying to give us the impression that the OSC works independently of the council and therefore he was not responsible. Yes?
Speechless: Oh come on, Kolilan. If you were clueless about this project when you were councillor for 11 years, it speaks a lot about you. Stop blaming others.
Not Confused: Methinks Kohilan should have kept his big mouth shut in the first place. Just because he wasn't actually involved in the approval process, it was still given when he and his BN colleagues were in power.
Trying to blame Pakatan has backfired badly, but what's new? BN is becoming famous for their ridiculous and badly-researched statements - trying to blame Pakatan for everything but later having to retract their baseless claims.
It's all quite amusing, seeing them scurrying around like headless chickens.
Multi Racial: Assuming Kohilan was sleeping and do not know what was going on in the local council so much so this project got approve without his knowledge, why he did not protest after knowing about it then?
Don't tell me he was not aware until now? If that is true, then he is a useless politician. Better to vote someone else in future.
Anonymous_40f4: The approval for the conversion of the land status from "quarry" to "commercial/residential" and the approval for sub-division was given by the state BN exco in 2002/2003.
In 2007, MPS approved the development plan with no objections from the MIC/MCA/Umno councillors, in which Kohilan was one of the representatives.
In March 2008, building plans were approved by MPS again with no objection from the BN councillors. The shit has certainly hit the fan.
Tpn: Idiots, they approve the project and now ask Pakatan what they are going to do with the project.
The developers should sue the BN for compensation if the project is scrapped.
