The PKR campaign bus was reportedly attacked in Perak  yesterday, as de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim was in the midst of a whirlwind tour of the state.

The incident was said to have taken place at the Tapah rest area along the North-South Expressway.

MediaRakyatNet, a widely watched pro-Pakatan Rakyat channel on YouTube , reported the incident on its Twitter account and posted a picture showing a broken window on the bus.

NONE PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution ( left ) reproduced the information on his Twitter account early this morning, alongside a request for improved safety for the convoy.

Anwar's programme in Perak will go on today, he said.

Saifuddin said when contacted that the did not have the full details of the incident as yet and would therefore issue a press statement tomorrow, after obtaining the relevant information.

The incident yesterday evening, was not the first time the PKR campaign bus has been attacked.

When PKR’s Jelajah Merdeka Rakyat programme began in September this year, its windscreen was smashed and splashed with red paint during its campaign in Kota Bahru .

Nearly a week after the first attack, the bus was again splashed with red paint in Jasin, Malacca, during the opposition party’s campaign in the southern state and a few days later in Johor, with its windscreen smashed during the attack .
