Pakatan Rakyat intends to hold the final leg of its nationwide mega-rallies dubbed Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat (People's Uprising Rally) at the historic Merdeka Stadium on Jan 12.

pakatan seremban mega rally 031112 mat sabu PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu, who is more popularly known as Mat Sabu, told the media on Monday night that the coalition would "heed the advice" of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and hold the rally in a stadium.

According to a report in Sin Chew Daily today, Mat Sabu hoped the authorities would approve Pakatan's application to hold the rally at the Merdeka Stadium.

The rally, which aims to attract one million participants, will be the last in the series of rallies that began in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, last month.

The rallies highlight people's issues, including the Lynas rare earths plant, the Pengerang petroleum hub, the clean and fair elections demands raised by Bersih, and the oil royalty demand of the Kelantan government.
