EC is no hero but a villain instead

YOURSAY ‘Just like the Sabah RCI, there will be an RCI on the Election Commission when Pakatan comes into power.'

Don't jump the gun over Sabah RCI, says EC chief

your say Slumdog: Election Commission chief Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof is comparing the EC's massive electoral fraud with a hero in a movie. Is this guy for real? Is he really that stupid? Does he understand the gravity of what he and the EC have perpetrated against the Agong, nation and rakyat?

If he had carried out these acts in any other democratic country, he would have been arrested, charged and held in custody awaiting trial for treason. But in Umno-land, where anything goes, he is free to continue this betrayal.

As others have said, I think he already knows the outcome of the Sabah RCI (royal commission of inquiry). They will conclude that Project IC was an isolated incident and due to lack of collaborating evidence, no further action is needed.

Lin Wenquan: A clever analogy indeed from Abdul Aziz. However, it must be emphasised that the hero here is not the EC. A villain would be a more appropriate role for them.

That qualification aside, how befitting is his storyline to the setup that he leads. EC is "unconscious" and not responding to the rakyat's call through Bersih for free and fair elections by cleaning and thoroughly rinsing the electoral rolls.

In fact, it has lapsed into a comatose every so often. At certain times, its little finger will twitch a wee bit to allow small concessions to Bersih's list of demands. It may be clinically alive on Umno-BN's life-support, but otherwise it is in a vegetative state.

Mob1900: The EC is not just "unconscious", it has been a rotting corpse for 30 years now. This EC is getting worse by the day with all its stupid remarks, and continues to make a mockery of its constitutional duties.

Telestai!: Abdul Aziz, are you saying if we come across someone committing rape or murder, we should first go to the police station, queue up and make a report?

Your analogy of the hero being shot is irrelevant as we are talking about errors in the electoral roll that need to be investigated immediately as the GE is around the corner.

The Mask: Abdul Aziz, you have been warned and given a chance to repent, and yet you still refuse to do so. Just like the Sabah RCI, there will be an RCI on the Election Commission when Pakatan Rakyat comes into power.

And just like the Sabah RCI, every dirty trick, manipulation and trickery committed by the EC will be exposed, and you and your cahoots will be severely punished. I can guarantee you that there will be no jumping of the gun in your case. Kaput means kaput .

Free And Fair Election: In the first place, we need not have to hold an RCI inquiry if the EC had done its job.

In this scenario, there are no heroes except for those who testified, and then some 'heroes' were even put under the Internal Security Act (ISA). This is BN's style of government - going after the whistleblowers, while the villains go free.

In this case, what we have are mostly villains, and they are running around blaming others. Villains must be shot down, and the EC is one of them.

Anonymous #43051382: The only way to beat the phantom voters is to get all friends and relatives to come out very early in full force to cast your votes.

This way, no matter how many phantoms have been planted, they will be rendered useless because the rakyat's power is always the greatest.

Starr: What a way to defend the indefensible. Because of the EC's failures, Malaysia is now known as a "sham democracy", therefore making an utter mockery of PM Najib Abdul Razak's proud pronouncement of Malaysia seeking to be the "best democracy in the world".

Perhaps it was Najib who 'jumped the gun' in making the pronouncement.

Onyourtoes: Unless I missed it, has the EC answered the revelation that those who have not personally registered themselves as voters have had their names appeared in the electoral roll?

Mr KJ John: Abdul Aziz, why not tell the truth? Just be honest, there is no need to use any illogical logic. This is not a movie, it is a royal commission of inquiry done under the name of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Anonymous #25595435: Yes, don't jump the gun. Altantuya Shaariibuu is not dead, she is just unconscious. One day, her body will appear again. Wow, this is even better than in comic books where their characters don't ever die.

Paul Warren: What really is so royal about the royal commission when you have this other royal appointee literally sniggering at the proceedings so far. After all, he too knows at the end of the day that whatever the royal commission's outcome, he is not bound by it.

InsanKamil: I beg to differ with the EC chief and his comparative analysis. The RCI is not a movie-like thing - it's not scripted, it's not play-acting, it's not directed, it's not make-believe and it's not something to be, or can be, played back or repeated.

Sometimes I feel that if you do not have anything logical to say, it is better to keep your mouth shut rather than sound illogical when you speak, yes?

Ramsingh: You must be seeing a lot of Hindi/Tamil movies during your working hours, Abdul Aziz.

Hmmmmmmmm: In the movies, the villains always get the comeuppance in the end. By the way, if those are the observers that you have appointed, it's better not to have any. None of them are neutral parties.

Hibiscus: If the EC chief is sincere in wanting to minimise electoral fraud, he would have started cleaning up the electoral roll yesterday as there are already ample evidence of illegal voters.

For instance, now that the Sabah RCI has already revealed that there are IC numbers shared by many people , he should quickly order a check to to be done to establish the extent of the fraud and take steps to arrest the problem so as to minimise its impact on the results of the GE.

Talking and making ridiculous statement makes one think that the EC chief is buying time, so that when the GE is announced, he will say that it is too late to clean up of the rolls.

Anonymous #43051382: Abdul Aziz seems very much destined to go into the movie production industry post-GE13 after Pakatan takes over Putrajaya.
