The Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) will not pull away Pakatan Rakyat votes despite SAPP failing to compromise on seat negotiations, says PKR vice-president Tian Chua.

"They (SAPP) will not pull away our votes," Tian Chua said, adding that the fight in the state during the general election would be between Pakatan and the BN.

"As long as people want us (Pakatan) to cooperate (with others), there must be a common struggle.

"We can negotiate with other political parties as long as the demand for seats is reasonable," the Batu MP said.

"However, the next election is basically between Pakatan and the BN. Other forces (parties) will not have substantial impact on the electorate's choice there."

Tian Chua said this when asked to comment on the breakdown of talks with SAPP, as reported by The Malaysian Insider today, quoting PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.

Azmin said Pakatan has instead succeeded in negotiations with its Sabah allies - Angkatan Perubahan Sabah (APS) led by Tuaran MP Wilfred Bumburing and Pertubuhan Pakatan Perubahan Sabah (PPPS) led by Beaufort MP Lajim Ukin.

"SAPP is completely out of the list, out of our formula. I am not blaming them for anything, simply that their demands are unreasonable," Azmin is quoted as saying.

It was reported that Pakatan's seat negotiations with SAPP was being hindered by the SAPP wanting to contest half of the 59 state seats up for grabs.
