Jamalul's wife deplores exhumations of Sulu fighters
The wife of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III deplored the digging up of the bodies of followers of the sultanate who had died in the first skirmish with Malaysian security forces last Friday, calling it “against Islam”.

“It is unfortunate because it is against Islam,” Dr Fatima Kiram said of the exhumations.
“‘When a Muslim dies, he is supposed to be buried immediately. What they did, they dug up the 10 bodies and took photographs.
“That is what is angering the group (of Azzimuddie Kiram, the sultan’s brother who led more than 200 followers to Sabah to press their claim to the territory)”.
On Wednesday, Malaysian Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein and Defense Minister Zahid Hamidi showed media

of nine bodies discovered in a grave in Kampung Tanduo, where Azzimuddie’s group had first holed up (

).
The pictures were shown after media complained that authorities had not shown the results of Tuesday's assault, which included air strikes , against Azzimuddie's group.
Malaysian security officials later said these bodies were believed to be those of sultanate followers slain in the Friday’s clash .
Azzimuddie continues to elude forces
Kiram also said Azzimuddie has continued to elude Malaysian forces who have been hunting him since Tuesday’s assault on Kampung Tanduo in Lahad Datu town.
“Raja Muda (Azzimuddie) and Abraham Idjirani spoke this morning but I cannot yet say what they talked about,” she said, adding that Idjirani, the sultanate’s spokesperson, was unavailable but would be giving a press conference later in the day.
At the same time, the sultan’s wife scoffed at suggestions Malaysia may seek the
extradition
of the sultan (

) to face charges of having “incited anger and hatred.”
Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman broached the idea on a television talk show Wednesday night.
“He (Jamalul) is not a Malaysian citizen. Did he commit any crime against Malaysia?' Let the lawyers answer this question," she said.
