Police have received 87 reports against Batu MP Tian Chua for his statement claiming that the terrorist intrusion in Lahad Datu, Sabah was orchestrated by Umno.

NONE Penang police chief Abdul Rahim Hanafi ( left ) said the police reports were made by individuals, political parties and NGOs.

"The 87 police reports received until yesterday will be sent to Johor police contingent and Sabah police contingent for further action," he told reporters after closing a basic training course for Police Volunteer Reserve (PVR) in George Town today.

PKR vice-president Tian Chua reportedly said the death of two police personnel in Lahad Datu on March 1 was orchestrated by Umno to scare people.

On another note, Abdul Rahim urged the public, especially family members of Hamzani Haron, 37, and Hisham Abdul Rahman, 39, to cooperate with the police.

"We need information from the public to track the two suspects. Police are still conducting operation although they had fled the state," he said.

The duo were among nine prisoners who escaped from a police van taking them from Penang prison to Butterworth court on January 7.

Two of them were arrested in Kampung Padang Chempedak, Tasek Gelugor while Mohd Fairuz Adam, 31, and Mohd Noor Mustafa, 28, were shot dead in Kampung Padang Ibu, Bukit Mertajam on January 10.

Two days later, police arrested Mohd Farid Akhtar, 24, in Kampung Petani, Kubang Semang while Mohd Shahrimi Mohd Noor, 28, surrendered in Penanti.
