Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim does not rule out the possibility of the state government dissolving the state assembly this month.

azlan "We (state government) have decided to dissolve the state assembly this month, but will not announce the date yet. We will make the announcement later," he said when met after the state government's monthly assembly in Shah Alam today.

He told this to reporters after being asked the date for the dissolution of the Selangor state legislative assembly.

Last February, the Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah had given consent to the Pakatan Rakyat state government to dissolve the state assembly earlier.

However, the sultan wanted the state government to announce the date and to do it in a proper, civil and organised manner.

Prior to that, Abdul Khalid had said that he might dissolve the state assembly after Chap Goh Meh .

The Selangor assembly will automatically dissolve on April 22.

Meanwhile, commenting on claims by several NGOs that the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) would build luxury condominium projects, like the Datum Jelatek project, in nine areas in Selangor, Abdul Khalid said he was not informed by PKNS about it.

However, he said he had no objection if PKNS wanted to carry out the projects because of the huge investment returns for Selangor.

Several quarters had called on the state government to cancel the Datum Jelatek luxury condominium project at Jalan Jelatek, Kampung Datuk Keramat and replace it with construction of affordable homes and retain the area as a Malay settlement.
