Praise Najib for serving out full term, says Khir Toyo

your say Krish: The guessing game has been going on for far too long. Some state assemblies will be going through automatic dissolutions despite the fact that the Election Commission (EC) wants simultaneous federal and state elections.

Such uncertainty does not augur well for the economy of the country. Unofficial campaigning already commenced ages ago by both sides of the political divide. With that, lot of things have come to a standstill and this has affected the people.

ONG: Former Selangor menteri besar Dr Mohd Khir Toyo is not sure if he will be selected a BN candidate and is merely trying to score some brownie with Najib.

On Mohd Khir's contention that PM Najib Razak "deserves commendation" for serving out the full term, I would have agreed with him if only Najib had declared such an intention, instead of putting the entire nation on election alert over the last five years.

Awangku: Mohd Khir, even your evil-spitting former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad complains about waiting too long for the elections. The rakyat is fed-up. How can a PM be so indecisive? Does he have a backbone?

Cascara: Mohd Khir is right. Najib may want to serve out his full term because he may not have a chance again. That may be true whether BN or Pakatan Rakyat wins.

Malaysiawatch4.blogspot: How long has the BN been campaigning now? Two or three years? In all that time, important issues have not been discussed or debated.

If only they had declared a one-month campaign and then programmed a series of weekly debates over TV, surely the BN could have demolished all the shaky policies of Pakatan.

For your information, the prime minister did not choose to abandon his privilege to call for a snap election but frankly, he is scared stiff of the results should an election be called as he knows he does not have the mandate.

And of what element of surprise are you referring to? Everyone knows that it is a matter of time and that the Parliament will have to dissolve come April 28, so where is the surprise? Frankly, it has become a bore.

Shade: The PM believes the Malay quote ‘biar lambat, asalkan selamat' (better late than never) will work for him. It looks like the longer the GE prolongs, the more ‘hantus' and ‘toyols' (ghosts) will emerge.

Changeagent: Haven't you heard, Khir Toyo? Najib is delaying the dissolving of Parliament because he wants to convince the people first of his achievements as PM. We are still waiting...

Clever Voter: Mohd Khir is a disgraced politician. It's only in Malaysia where corrupt politicians are treated as celebrities, indicating:

1) we tolerate crimes as long as they are 'legitimate',

2) we even bother to listen to what they had to say,

3) we give them the space to speak, and move around freely.

We need to have zero tolerance for such people and put them away. It's about time we do the right thing. Vote for change.

Ahmad Said: This coming from a corrupt joker. If Najib truly wanted to go the full term, he would have announced much earlier that this is the way he wants to rule, but no, the circumstances have forced him to go the full term, and then some.

Mohd Khir, we haven't forgotten about you. We will get a new non-partisan Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to re-examine all of your ill-gotten gains when BN falls from power.
