BN, Pakatan young guns to duel at GE forum
Four young leaders from BN and Pakatan Rakyat will go head to head at a three-hour forum on the 13th general election on April 10.
Four young leaders from BN and Pakatan Rakyat will go head to head at a three-hour forum on the 13th general election on April 10.
The event, organised by the Centre for Public and Policy Studies (CPPS), will be streamed live on video sharing site Youtube , the official platform partner.
The CPPS operates under the Asian Strategic and Leadership Institute (Asli), a think tank.
"This is a good opportunity to hear the speakers deliberate on important issues and important policies that their (coalition) hopes to implement (if it wins) the general election," Asli CEO Michael Yeoh

told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
"The speakers will discuss and perhaps also debate issues that could determine the outcome of GE13."
Umno supreme council member Saifuddin Abdullah and MCA vice-president Gan Ping Sieu will appear for BN, while DAP election strategist Liew Chin Tong and PAS strategist Mujahid Yusof Rawa will represent Pakatan.
"We deliberately stayed away from the leaders of political parties because we want to hear from the young leaders on both sides," explained Yeoh.
He said the four represent the second echelon of leadership, and that their views may help shape the political landscape beyond GE13.
CPPS director Ng Yeen Seen

said the forum will feature opening remarks from the panellists, seven questions from the audience to be answered by both sides, and a concluding statement by the speakers.
She also said 350 people are expected to attend, but that 100 seats are reserved - 50 for supporters from each side. Members of the public must register at the CPPS website to reserve places.
Zeffri Yusof, head of communications and public affairs for Youtube Malaysia, said an average of two million Malaysians surf videos on Youtube every day.
Political parties are becoming more aggressive in using the online platform for campaigning, he noted.
