The High Court in Kuala Lumpur today set April 22 for case management in the legal suit brought by opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim against blogger ‘Papagomo’ for allegedly posting defamatory words and linking him with another man in a sex video.

Judicial commissioner Lee Heng Cheong fixed the date in chambers in the presence of Anwar’s counsel Mohd Afiq Mohd Noor.

To reporters, Mohd Afiq said they were told to hand over copies of the writ of summons and statement of claim to Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, 30, before April 22, failing which he would have to file substitute service via advertisement.

Anwar filed the RM100 million suit on March 21.

In his statement of claim, Anwar alleged that Wan Muhammad Azri had posted four series of defamatory words at www.papagomo.com on March 16, 17, 19 and 20.

He is seeking general, aggravated and exemplary damages, interests, costs and other relief deemed fit by the court, as well as an injunction to restrain the defendant from further posting the defamatory words and images.
