Three mysterious packages were found in the Klang valley, causing a scare at two DAP division offices.

One of the packages was found near the party’s operations centre in Jinjang Utara at 8am today, and the other at the Puchong DAP headquarters in Bandar Kinrara at about 5pm.

The third package was found beside a duck stall in Seri Kembangan, Serdang, also this morning.

All the packages with the suspicious items were examined by the police bomb disposal squad, the last being in Puchong at about 7pm.

Meanwhile, deputy inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said the mysterious package found outside a DAP operations room in Jinjang Utara only contained wires and tin.

Khalid said the box had the words ‘Bom’ written on it, and the public were alerted of its presence.

NONE “The complaint was made at about 8am and police immediately went there. The police opened the package after the public nearby had been asked to vacate the surrounding areas, and found it to contain a tin and wires.

“Our bomb disposal unit is examining it right now and identifying a black material on it whether it is explosives or not.

“It is like a Pink Panther cartoon - the box is placed with the word ‘bom’ on it and hence be careful” he said during a press conference today.

Khalid said he does not know the size of the box and it is yet to be ascertained whether it is explosives.

"For all we know the black material maybe belacan," he joked, at the daily briefing by Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar.

He said there have been several reports of bombs in the past with  exploding in Penang.

Khalid admitted that this could be an attempt to scare the public, but that the police will not treat such matters lightly.

“As polling day approaches, these things can scare people, and we will investigate and take action on those involved,” he said.

Meanwhile PKR vice-president Tian Chua reported that the police had indeed found explosives and defused the danger by detonating the bomb.

Sex video - no arrests so far

On the sex video found in Terengganu early last month allegedly depicting a senior PAS leader, Khalid said there have been no arrests so far.

"We have yet to ascertain who made, distributed or possess the video. No arrests have made," he said.

Khalid said police are not interested in who is in the film but only want to know the person responsible for whole affair.

"If we get to know who distributed it, the DIGP said we will then horn in on who made the video", he added.

The DIGP, was responding to the smut material distributed to several houses in Besut, Terengganu early last month.

On an unrelated matter, Bukit Aman CID director Bakri Zinin said police have yet to make any arrest on the assassination and murder of deputy director-general (operations) of the Customs Department Shaharuddin Ibrahim, on April 26.

"No arrests have been made so far,"  he confirmed.

Shaharuddin was reportedly killed on his way to work, in Putrajaya after two men on a motorcycle, shot him while he was in the official car.

He was shot at a junction, at Lebuh Wawasan, roughly a kilometre away from the Putrajaya district police station.
