The Black 505 rally in Ipoh last night had attracted some 30,000 participants protesting against alleged fraud and misconduct during the general election. However, some netizens have been complaining on social media that the top leaders of Perak DAP were nowhere to be seen during the rally.

NONE Perak DAP chief Ngeh Koo Ham ( right ) has clarified that there is nothing abnormal about this, as yesterday’s event had not been organised by Pakatan Rakyat, but by one of its members, PKR.

He added that he didn’t manage to attend last night’s rally because he had to go to a pre-arranged dinner in Ayer Tawar, and he had previously informed PKR about his absence as well.

Previous to that, Pakatan had held two Black 505 rallies, one in Selangor at Kelana Jaya stadium and the other in Penang at Batu Kawan stadium. These rallies were attended by the top leaders of DAP such as veteran Lim Kit Siang and secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, Ngeh continued.

Ipoh He pointed out that Perak DAP had held a similar rally last Thursday at Dewan Chin Woo, Ipoh, which many PKR leaders also didn’t attend.

Following the crowd of 120,000 who turned up in Selangor and Penang , it is noted that the Black 505 rally at Medan Istana, Ipoh last night still attracted 30,000 people.

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and former Perak menteri besar Nizar Jamaluddin were among the speakers at the rally yesterday.
