EC caught with sarong down over indelible ink

YOURSAY ‘Subra, your Umno masters will inform you soon enough that the EC is the one that put you where you are, not the voters.'

Health Ministry: No indelible ink safety report provided

your say Ferdtan: "The Health Ministry has never provided any safety report on the indelible ink, nor has the Election Commission (EC) asked for such a report, said Health Minister Dr S Subramaniam."

So EC chairperson Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof lied. This makes it imperative that the whole EC commissioners should resign immediately.

Indeed, the June 15 ‘Black 505' rally to protest the alleged fraud in the 13th general election at Padang Merbok in Kuala Lumpur is justified.

Odin: So, Abdul Aziz, the Health Ministry is supposed to have told you that if you put more than 1 percent of silver nitrate (AgNO3) in the ink, it could damage the kidney and cause cancer.

Let's not ask why you would have to bring up the AgNO3 issue, as we would suppose the ink to have come along with it already present.

We shall only ask if the said ministry had indicated that the substance might cause damage to the kidney and give rise to cancer if it was inhaled, ingested or come in physical contact with such as it is being applied on your finger.

Concern Malaysian: We know very well that in some countries that use the indelible ink, the silver nitrate content was as high as 18 percent. I am inclined to say that the EC is the culprit.

Iamleavingbutdecidedtostay: Why are all these coming out only now? Until May 5 (505), the EC had always claimed that the ink will not come off for seven days.

Mr KJ John: Hey, health minister, all this was done by Umno fellows, outside your ministry's ambit; then, they directed the obedient civil servant to close both eyes and do what they needed to get done. Remember they are all Umno members; only you and your predecessor are not.

Borg Kinaulu: Subra, your Umno masters will inform you soon enough that the EC is the one that put you where you are, not the voters, well at least not just the voters. Hence, you are not supposed to bite the hands that feed you.

Ketuanan Rakyat: BN are experts in everything, including how to commit corruption and get away with it, use the people's money and get them to vote BN, say one thing and do another, be outright racialist but call others racialist.

Gggg: Oh no, Subra. How could you do this? Now you have put the EC in a very difficult situation.

Fighting for Justice: Wait, wait, don't be in such a hurry. Subra will be called up and given a bashing. After that, suddenly one post-dated letter will spring up from the Health Ministry, signed by the previous officers.

One lie to cover another lie. It's better that Pakatan get to the root of this shady situation to fix the EC.

FairGame: More lies from the EC. Now that the Health Ministry has denied any safety report on the indelible ink, what lies are you going to spin again?

Without credibility, how is EC going to continue its job? These two heads must roll.

Yellow Bird: The very fact that either one of them could lie without batting an eyelid is proof enough that officials of the government have lost all respect of the rakyat and should be thrown out before the next election.

Angel: The bench silver nitrate solution used in STPM practical is 50g per dm3, which corresponds to a 5 percent solution.

Actually when silver nitrate solution get on to the skin, it takes time for some black spots to occur. Probably in the present of ultraviolet light, it may appear instantaneously.

Experience shows that it takes two or three days of washing or bathing to remove the black spot. Chemistry Department, please investigate so that we can produce a local indelible ink.

Simpang 4: If it is carcinogenic then why are school children exposed to this substance in science practical classes?

Mob1900: Clearly, the EC chiefs are caught with their sarongs down.

Pahatian: "The EC was unable to add more silver nitrate to the ink mixture."

Does that mean the indelible ink, like our hair dye, is a do-it-yourself (DIY) product? How can the EC officials be dealing with such potentially health hazardous and cancer-causing liquids? How can they put our lives at risk?

Heads must roll. By the way, who is the supplier of the infamous indelible ink? Made in Sungai Choh?

Senior: The EC bought the ink from dubious sources. Until today, it won't name the source (from a crony perhaps?) So how can they ask the ministry for a report?

BIJAN: Top two EC men should resign immediately. How can a top official lie to the public? Shame on them. Still say you are independent?

Anonymous #57883242: If those who voted are now having kidney and cancer problems, can they sue the government?

Dood: What difference does it make now? There have been so many lies by the authorities about the indelible ink that another half dozen more won't make a difference.
