12.59am: Malaysiakini comes across three women at a shop at Pekan Kuala Besut hard at work preparing goodie bags in preparation for a programme with a minister tomorrow.

A staff at the store told Malaysiakini they are to prepare 200 such packages as part of Ramadhan aid to be given out, but are unsure where the programme will be held or even which minister will be attending it.

Also seen are several men lifting bags of sugar out of a lorry, while two more are placing the filled bags of goodies onto another lorry.

12pm: PAS central committee Abu Bakar Chik accused the Terengganu BN government for giving away sand mining projects to cronies, causing the Pengkalan Nangka tidal gate at Kampung Bharu to malfunction.

He says that this has affected the livelihood of the 400 rice farmers at Kampung Tok Saboh, Kampung Nangka, Kampung Bharu and Kampung Gong Manok as the 1,000-acre paddy field is unable to get water for the past one and a half years.

According to him, each rice farmer is able to gain RM2,000 to RM2,500 each harvest.

"They had to somehow survive for the past one and a half years with no income."

Abu Bakar pointed the finger at Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Abdul Rahman, who allegedly didn't solve the problem in the past few years when he was serving as an engineer in the drainage and irrigation department in the Besut district.

Tengku Zaihan was transferred to Putrajaya early this year and resigned after being appointed as BN's candidate for this by-election.
