Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim is open to criticism but he gives more attention if these come from the rakyat, rather than party leaders, says a report in today's Sinar Harian.

"Therefore, in every convention or discussion, I take them positively and try to improve," Khalid is quoted as saying.

He was responding to PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali who have repeatedly called on the menteri besar not to hoard state funds but to spend them on development.

The Selangor state reserve has hit a staggering RM3 billion.

Anwar had criticised Khalid, saying that there was no need to be proud over the huge reserves and that the state government needed to address other weaknesses.

On a related matter, Khalid denied receiving letters of protest from state assemblypersons in Selangor on the management of the state budget.
