Police do not rule out revenge as the motive in the shooting of Pahang Islamic Religious Department (Jaip) enforcement chief Mohd Raffli Abdul Malik yesterday.

Mohd Raffli was shot at thrice in front of his house in Indera Mahkota 2 near Kuantan and died instantly after two bullets hit him in the chest in the 2pm incident in which three suspects were believed involved.

State police chief Sharifudin Ab Ghani said police were investigating the case from all aspects.

“Police are investigating if it was a threat in his capacity as an enforcement officer or a personal threat,” he told reporters when met at the funeral for Mohd Raffli at a Mulsim cemetery near Jalan Bukit Ubi in Kuantan today.

He said police had also provided security for the victim’s family members.

Following the incident, Sharifudin suggested that enforcement officers from all government agencies be housed in one area with good security features to ensure their safety.
