Since it's personal, PM's wife must foot the bill

YOURSAY 'Who made the request to use the private jet? For it to be approved by the cabinet, a request must be made first, right?'

Rosmah's Qatar trip personal, jet approved by DPM

your say, Yoursay BH Yap: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Shahidan Kassim said that all the criticisms levelled upon the government "would not bring investors to the country".

Shahidan wants us to hide all the wrongdoings and abuses to get investors here? Where is his brain? In Qatar?

Mushiro: Pengerang MP Azalina Othman admitted that PM's wife Rosmah Mansor was invited in her personal capacity and Shahidan said Rosmah was invited officially.

Is this a contradiction or was Rosmah officially invited in her personal capacity? If this was the case, then she should have gone on a commercial aircraft.

This is definitely not the first private jet jaunt by Rosmah and neither will this be the last. All the BN ministers and MPs are there to apple polish her - it reminds me of how Deputy Education Minister II P Kamalanathan had to respectfully bow down and kiss DPM Muhyiddin Yassin's hands like a slave.

Lim Chong Leong: From the few ministers and MP explanations, Rosmah went on a private jet on taxpayers' account in her personal capacity approved by the cabinet chaired by DPM on an official invitation from the Qatari government accompanied by government officials, and her private trip was a success in terms of whoever knows what because it was not an official trip?

Not Smart: The DPM spends the rakyat's money like his own. There is no accountability and integrity. He does not know simple arithmetic. Remember, he allocated RM1 million for a school with only 15 students .

If this is the caliber of DPM, what caliber are the rest of the cabinet members, who sat in the meeting and allowed the executive jet to be approved?

This is the type of leaders we have after GE13. Don't blame Rosmah but the person who approved the use of the jet.

Old Timer: And this is why our budget deficit will continue with additional burden being placed on taxpayers.

There is no move to cut spending and corruption by the government. It looks like they are just going to spend money by dipping their hands into the country's piggy bank.

CiViC: Whatever Rosmah "may" have achieved or benefited Malaysia, will still happen if she had gone on her own capacity.

If she is unwilling to fork out her own money for the "good" of the country, that says a lot about this ‘first lady'.

And Shahidan, mind telling us why and who made the request to use the private jet? For it to be approved by the cabinet, a request must be made first, right?

Avenger: They prosecuted Anwar Ibrahim for corruption for allegedly abusing his position as deputy PM to get the police to ‘turn over' witnesses who supported an allegation of sodomy against him.

In countries like Australia, using taxpayers' money for a private purpose would lead to such dreadful publicity that the culprits will have to pay back the money.

In Malaysia, these politicians, once in power, recover their ‘investment' and also make huge ‘profits' at the taxpayers' expense.

Oh Ya?: Indeed in Australia, politicians are forced to apologise and pay back travelling claims should they attend constituents' and friends' wedding.

In Malaysia, the ruling elite is treating public purse and public properties as their own. Not only they incurred millions in electricity and water bills for their official residences, they are also jetting around the globe on personal trips.

Instead of being remorseful, they are saying Malaysians should be proud. Proud of what? Their ability to loot the country with impunity?

Louis: Compare PM Najib Razak with PAS spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat. Najib has no qualms allowing his wife to use government's fund for her private affair.

Nik Aziz dared not even use his official car for his private trip during electoral campaigns. Now in whose hands will our money be safer? And who adhere to Islamic values more?

Multi Racial: This is defending the indefensible. Just take note of those who stand up for Rosmah.

If the BN ministers are credible, they would have voice up at the cabinet meeting to object to this. Sad it seems no one did.

Now in Parliament, look at those BN MPs trying to defend this. How can this be defended? Rosmah should not be allowed to use country's private jet for her own personal use.

YUNoAnon: She went to Qatar in her personal capacity using government-funded transport, which is paid for by our tax money. Now please explain how this is not wrong?

Next year, I will claim tax exemption for government-funded transportation.

AliFamily: Former Commercial Crimes Department chief Ramli Yusuff was charged for using a police plane for personal use. Why don't we see Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) doing the same to Rosmah?

Will MACC probe the cabinet over Rosmahgate?
