Don't fault Rosmah, blame Muhyiddin instead

YOURSAY 'Rosmah did not do anything wrong. All she did was to ask DPM to get the cabinet to approve the travel.'

PAS accuses Rosmah of 'interfering' in M'sia affairs

your say, Yoursay Ayush: I suspect this Qatar trip is only the tip of an iceberg. Let us probe further. I believe there are many more cases of abuse of public money by ‘First Lady' Rosmah Mansor.

Let us ask for the details on how the allocation for her Permata project is spent.

Onyourtoes: I doubt the cabinet has even explicitly considered her trip. Even if the request was tabled to the cabinet, I doubt the use of executive jet was explicitly considered or discussed.

I even doubted the use of executive jet was the decision or discretion of the cabinet. How I know? It is just my intuition.

I believe when the PM or his wife want to use the jet to go somewhere, they ask no one. I doubt our cabinet is that assertive when it comes to such matters.

I think the members are not even smart enough to notice. All are too eager to curry favour with the PM and his wife. I don't respect a single one of them. You name me one if you can.

I believe the cabinet is no longer the highest decision and policy making body in the country anymore and has no discretion or authority to approve or disapprove the use of executive jet.

Members of cabinet are all bootlickers. Like BN MPs, they are all too nincompoop and unconscionable to assert their authority.

The executive jets are being treated like private handbags and jewelleries of PM and DPM and their respective wives. The PM is also the finance minister - now I hope you can see the implication.

There is now absolutely no financial fiduciary duties and responsibility in the government. Zero. May god save Malaysia.

Mushiro: Now that the GE is over, Rosmah and Najib will not be bothered with the criticisms and public outcry over her extravaganza.

A few months before the next GE, she will lie low again. It is so easy to fool 47 percent of Malaysians.

Hmmmmmmmm: Don't be surprised if one day the BN government sends a one year old to represent us at a world investment forum.

Not only will there be anybody in the BN cabinet dare to object, there would even be a few bootlickers explaining to the rakyat why it's a good idea to do so.

When the first lady goes on private jet jaunts

Kamikasi: Eat your heart out, people! We must all be proud of her as she has the business acumen not many businesswomen have. One up for Malaysian women.

The precedent has been set. The next one will be the wives of all the top ministers, flying all over the world on personal invitations. What are you going to do about it?

If this is a responsible government, it would have made this trip public knowledge and account for her trip. In the eyes of poor Malaysians, this is beyond their comprehension.

Vent: In what ‘official' capacity did the PM's wife attend the conference in Qatar? Was she the head of the delegation? And who were the "senior government officials" present and what role did they play in Qatar?

Tanjong Karang MP Noh Omar, what kind of prominence did Rosmah get other than for playing a role in squandering government funds? Also, did you say she brought a good name to the country? In what way?

Finally Noh Omar, you should know by now that genuine investors will be pleased to invest in a country in which government sets a good example in spending money sensibly.

Mamadias: Dr Siti Hasmah comes from a classy family and Dr Mahathir Mohamad knew how to manage his spouse and the spouse knew her place in the government as the wife of the prime minister.

So at the end of the day all this talk of transformation for the rakyat means it's for us but not for them.

Will MACC probe the cabinet over Rosmahgate?

Metallic: Rosmah did not do anything wrong. All she did was to ask DPM to get the cabinet to approve the travel. All she did was to ask Qatar to invite her to the women's conference. All she did was to ask wives of ministers if they wanted to come along.

What's wrong with asking? Those who agreed should be questioned.

Anonymous #03815719: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will say without official report they can't act on Rosmah.

So I request NGOs and opposition leaders, please lodge a report to MACC. Let us all make her pay and that those who sanctioned her request to use the jet be charged in court.

Selangor Born Overseas Observer: Indeed in Australia, cabinet ministers go to jail for misusing official government cars. Once convicted, they automatically lose their member of parliament status.
