YOURSAY 'And Perkasa should be more concerned where the money comes from.’

Banned 'Wolf' raises Perkasa's hackles

Hypocracy!: Why must ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ be looked upon as a film produced by a Malay who by deduction must be a Muslim (in Malaysian politicians' eyes)?

Why can't it be looked upon as a piece of art by a capable individual who has put himself on par with the best in the industry? Why all the race and religion stuff?

Anonymous #40538199: The success of the film in the global market shows that the Malays are capable of achieving international success.

Perkasa should feel proud of this. The film has reached the level where no Chinese Malaysian has reached before. It also shows that when Malay and Chinese (Riza Aziz and Jho Low) really work together, they can produce wonders.

The film should be shown for free in all Felda settlements.

Boon Hor Loy: What's wrong, Perkasa? It's just a movie. If you think it's against your religion to watch, then stay at home. Why should others be penalised?

We respect a fellow Malaysian who is the producer of the movie and we are proud of him here.

Headhunter: Perkasa, you should be more concerned where the money comes from, rather than the film's content. After all, Malaysian Muslims already make beer, accept corrupt money, so why not make sexually explicit films? Get your priorities right, please.

Yours And My Malaysia: Perkasa is under instruction to whack PM Najib Razak. For me, the issue is not about the movie. If some think it is too “dirty”, then just do not watch it.

The bigger question is where did Riza get the funds to bank roll the movie and then also buy a RM100 million apartment in New York?

Myop101: Perkasa, why don't you also raise the question how did the PM's stepson raise the funds for this venture? Aren't you a bit curious?

ONG: Upset with the foul language in the movie? What about Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali's "Don't talk shit" ? Was that cultured language?

My Opinion: It's all a trick. First, get Perkasa to make lots of noise - this will give free publicity to the movie.

Two months later, the government lifts the ban and the PM's stepson make lots of money from curious people like us. That’s the strategy.

DontPlayGod: I am sure Singapore will show it. So for those keen to view it, just hop to Singapore.

FairMind: Umno's Islam has double standards. Saying the 'A' word is forbidden to non-Muslims in Malaysia but okay in other parts of the world.

It's okay for Umno leaders' families and cronies to produce sexually explicit films, own beer companies, sit on the boards of gambling companies and indulge in corruption and other vices.

But ordinary Muslims are forbidden to drink beer, gamble, engage in yoga, wear certain apparel and dance the poco-poco.

Lionking: Relax Perkasa, these so-called moral attributes does not apply to the ruling BN class.

Paul Warren: There was another Muslim who was the producer of another Oscar winning movie in 1981 - 'Chariots of Fire'.

That movie introduced me to the finer virtues of Christianity and put Christianity in a very good light. That Muslim was Emad El-Din Mohamed Abdel Moneim Fayed, better known as Dodi Fayed.

Well, something for Najib to think about, I suppose.

Greenie: Christians using 'Allah' must be so much worse than Muslims funding sexually explicit films, exposing body parts that are haram and having orgies that are also forbidden in Islam.

Apa Ini?: Will the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigate Rosmah Mansor's son? It’s plain impossible that the millions he put into the New York apartment came out of his own hard-earned savings.

Abasir: In 1Islamic Umnoland, there has always been one rule for the rich and infamous and one for the hoi polloi.

While the high-living lowlife publicly frowns upon the consumption of what they piously declare 'haram', privately they indulge it with gay abandon.

This surfaces occasionally and is predictably met with howls of shock and dismay by the custodians of Islamic morality.

I like this: "Asked what he thinks of Rosmah and Najib not being able to watch the film in Malaysia, Wan Saiful quipped: "Well, they have private jets, they can always fly to the US."

So Najib and Rosmah are leaving on a jet plane, but don't know when they'll be back again.

Anonymous_3e86: Forget it. Someone just send them a pirated DVD. I'm sure Rosmah's son will send a bluray version of the movie to them for viewing soon. Please don't use public funds to fly to US!

SpongeBob: The intention of censorship is not so much about the content of the movie but more to prevent the formation of public perception on how the PM's stepson able to finance it.

Victor Johan: Who's making the new movie 'The Wolf of Putrajaya'? Any takers?
