KAJANG Entering the second half of the Kajang by-election campaign, BN candidate Chew Mei Fun says she is a “stronger underdog” because support for the BN is getting better.

“The underdog (usually) remains an underdog, but this underdog has become stronger. We are confident that, if we continue and raise our spirits and increase (our efforts), we can achieve what we want,” Chew said after visiting a nursing home in Kajang today.

“I would like to stress again (that we are here to) contest and win.”

Chew, who is an MCA vice-president, said “there is progress” in support from the ground, but stressed that she would work even harder over the remainder of the campaign.

Asked to comment on Zaharie Ahmad Shah - the pilot of the missing Flight MH370 - who has been confirmed to be a PKR member, Chew said she would not raise the issue to smear her opponent, PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

She said she would like to be a “constructive opposition representative” in Selangor, and would leave this matter to experts investigating the March 8 disappearance of the Malaysia Airlines plane as it was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
