'Pakatan, don't dream about first woman PM'

Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Himidi gave a terse response to DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang, who described PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the country's potential first female prime minister.
"Don't day dream," he said.
"I think we can have press conferences in the day time, so they don't keep daydreaming," the minister added after meeting with police officers in Kajang today.
In an open letter to Kajang voters yesterday, Lim, who is also Gelang Patah MP, called on them to cast their ballots for Wan Azizah as a vote of confidence for Malaysia’s potential first woman premier.
"This is congruent with the initial objective of the Kajang move decided by the Pakatan Rakyat leadership as a launching pad into Putrajaya.
"If Pakatan succeeds in the 14th general election to capture Putrajaya by winning a majority of the parliamentary seats in Malaysia, the country may be seeing the first woman prime minister in Malaysia, especially if Anwar Ibrahim is disqualified from standing as a MP in the next general elections because of the political and judicial shenanigans of Umno/BN," said Lim.
BN to win more votes
Meanwhile, Ahmad Zahid, who lives in Kajang, said he was confident BN would garnered more votes this time based on his interaction with voters.
“Some of the voters say incumbent state assemblyperson (Lee Chin Cheh) has failed to deliver and if (BN candidate) Chew Mei Fun is elected, she would be able to do better,” he said.
Ahmad Zahid said only seven reports were received by the police throughout the 12-day campaign period, with all of them involving activities without police permit.
In a separate matter, Selangor police chief Mohd Shukri Dahlan said that 800 police personnel would be deployed to ensure a smooth polling day tomorrow.
Heavy vehicles are not allowed in the Kajang state constituency from 12 midnight until 4pm tomorrow.
