Penang PKR Youth has condemned the owner of the Facebook account named Blue Wave Army for allegedly posting a picture of Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail's purported death.
State PKR Youth chief Dr Afif Bahardin said that the posting of the photo of his party president's death was "malicious".
"We will lodge a police report today . We urge the police to treat the matter seriously and take appropriate action against those who spread such false news and malicious slander," the state executive councillor for health said in a statement today.
State PKR Youth has confirmed that it's members will lodge a report today at the Bayan Baru police station at 2.30pm.
The contentious photo carried the words 'the wife of opposition leader dato (sic) seri wan azizah has breathe her last at 7pm sharp just now. Al-fatihah. With this, another bastard female martyr in pr is gone. Alhamdulillah .'
Afif said if immediate action could be taken against the suspect who had allegedly uploaded a photo of Prime Minister Najib Razak's wife, Rosmah Mansor "dead body", the police should act speedily against the person who had acted in similar fashion against Wan Azizah.
" (this is) Proof that the police force does persecute selectively when fighting crime," Afif said.
"Once again the police's credibility is being tested. They had alleged that their credibility was challenged in the case of the photo of Rosmah.
"How long does the police want it's force to be challenged?" he queried.
